I present to you my latest acquisition, the ultimately pointless Ageia PhysX. Don't really know why, but I'm attracted to this type of acceleration cards.

I have one of those, too. Mine is from ASUS and PCI-E, however.

PS: Having the "Reaction image posts are off-topic on VOGONS." problem ... does anyone has it too ? Or am I doing something wrong ?

Seems to be a recent issue. Some users reported success by editing the post and adding the images afterwards.

I have a different error message, something with "images are no longer available".
So I always write something, then submit. Then I edit and add the attachments; a bit annoying but no big problem.

I agree. The GUS is a nice touch. If'n only them doo-doo heads on flea bay didn't charge them there cards an arm an' a leg. As what Colonel Sherman T Potter would say: Mule Fritters!

Yeah! Dude, it's like brand new. Everything in it is original from the outfit that built it. Dust free, almost like it's never been used.
Can't wait to power it up. even has big fat LED digits behind the black panel at the top.

nice, I already made peace with the fact that I will probably never have a GUS ^^

they look pretty good for having been buried in that pile.

I thought I would never have a GUS.. Then not long ago I found a boxed one for sale for $25 + shipping. Don't give up.

Where do you guys find stuff? I only know of one dumping place that'll let you anywhere near their stuff, and that's a 300km drive for me. Everywhere else is locked up tight and they don't respond to emails or anything.

Technically, I could put one of mine SL4KL 1GHz Pentium IIIs into this thing and get a very fast system

Fastest it supports is a 800MHz Coppermine with a FSB of 100MHz (according to the manual, if you have one of the latest revisions).

Finally got time to test my SE440BX-2 with a SL4KL 1GHz CPU. It does work — so like I said, the manual simply was released before that particular CPU came to the market.

I am running a 1000MHz 100FSB in a Vectra SFF based on 440ZX (Mitac HP OEM version). The latest processor the manual states is the 550Mhz PIII 😏
Interestingly... The latest BIOS dates from exactly between the release of the 800MHz model and the 1000MHz model.
So, as expected, while the 800 is identified fine, both the 900 and 1000 versions are falsely reported by the BIOS at startup (879MHz and 962MHz respectively), but they do work fine regardles, and CPU-Z reports the correct values. (e.g. 10x100MHz etc..)

I didn't buy, a perfect condition full IBM XT set with monitor/keyboard yesterday... because I was still contemplating if I have enough spoons to make a 3 hour drive for it.

of course today it's already gone... I expect to see it on ebay soon for at least 5 times the price 🙁

For 120 USD
Onkyo SE-200PCI LTD x 1
M-Audio AudioPhile 24/96 x 2 (in the single box)
Terratec DMX 6Fire 24/96 Bare card x 1

IMHO, SE-200PCI LTD has a real chance of becoming a modern retro in not-so-distant future.

It works with BIOS versions from P13, if I remember well, to P16. I have version P17 and it can't go higher then 800 MHz.
Probably Intel restricted the compatibility with faster CPUs on later BIOS versions... to sell newer boards 😁
