Today the mailman brought me a few hard disks.
- 4,3GB WDC 14300, 1999. This seems like the only one that is fragile :p
- 6,8 GB Samsung SV0682D, 2000
- 8,4GB WDC 28400, 1999. big brother of the first one 😀
Now there rises another problem: which computers to put them in? Need some more I guess 😉
Stuck at 10MHz...
Ordered an S3 Virge DX 4MB and an LC Power 550W PSU today.
The Virge will be mainly used for 2D DOS gaming, but I'm also a bit curious how S3D games like Terminal Velocity and Tomb Raider will work on it.
The PSU will hopefully allow my AthlonXP rig to run at higher clock speeds. It seems to have 40A on the 5V rail, so I should be all set.
Today I received a Geforce FX5500 I bought on Ebay... So happy to plug it in... and see that I actually received a FX5200 ...
😭😭😭
My Intel SE440BX-2 Intel's website Mirror : Modified to include docs, refs and BIOSes.
Is it at least 128bit 5200? If it is you can usually clock it to the 5500 speeds

No... see the empty RAM pads?
FX 5200 and FX 5500 used the same GPU. Both come in 64 and 128 bit versions. As stated you can simply overclock it into a 64 bit 5500.
I bought a Sony VAIO laptop with a 550 MHZ K6-2+ for $15. I didn't know Sony made AMD computers, so this was interesting to me. The video chip (4 MB shared) is really disappointing though.

Good point not sure how I missed the empty ram pads. It still can be over locked to 5500 speeds
A boxed CMS-401. I was hesitant to post seller pics because of how little I paid for it. It arrived today and I haven't had a chance to test it yet.
Seller's pic:
It actually came with more than what was in the pictures.
1. The warranty cards with the serial number for Cakewalk 3 written on one of them.
2. A post card from Cakewalk having to do with some licensing litigation between them and CMS.... which verifies that the seller was the original owner of this card.

What is it? Is the box a break-out box or a midi module? If the latter can you post some recordings?

Ah, happy you got it. I was the 2nd high bidder, sorry for that...
Quite surprised my price proposal was accepted, but I think it was fair.

🤣... ofc it was you again! x3
how'd you find it even, the title was so nondescript
also nice stuff D: I didn't see that one.
I managed to find one of those old, now kinda-rare Sonnet PATA cards.
Thanks to this, my SSD Equipped G3 will now be appreciably faster, even if OS9 doesn't actually need to be faster in my setup.
