As for the 4MHL3S motherboard, I dunno. It just doesn't start. I thought I got the jumpers right. I know the ISA video card works. Tried a bunch of different EDO ram. I just don't know.

EDO won't work there, or in most 486 boards for that matter. Only some of the later boards (usually PCI) support it, and very few (or none) can actually take advantage from it. In most cases you need FPM memory modules.

not a bad way to spend $200 USD. interesting how the seller marked "for parts/not working"..

Finally after crossing the atlantic and being held hostage by customs this box arrived:

ATI Rage Fury MAXX 64MB AGP

Well I guess the seller did that to protect himself against unfounded claims, I don't blame him. But the card is like new, the software is not even open.

And I don't see what price has to do with anything.

Have a nice day

I list EVERYTHING as "or parts/not working". It's the only way a non-business seller can sell anything on epay without taking a 10" marital aid up the rear. And I happen to LIKE that sort of thing!

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Yup, only way for a seller to protect himself against scams on Ebay. I've never had a case of the item wasn't working, even though it was advertised as such (excluding obvious cases where the item is sold for parts and it has visible damage).

I have a couple rage fury maxx cards, and I don't seek out boxed parts either.

I guess everyone is safe?

After discovering that my OSSC third-party unit is not that great at above 1024x768 input (ghosting and noise), I ordered an official one from https://videogameperfection.com .

Damn you COVID-19 for making me buy a third-party unit (fast local shipping) rather than an official or Kaico built one !

Thanks for the warning, but seems that bob is content atm. so the six is clear, for now.

I am not at all jealous of all those ASUS parts, especially the P5A in box 😳

Awesome finds!

Interesting! My unit could have the same issue. Were you able to characterize the problem (e.g with a test pattern)?

Also today arrived in the mail an original copy of Duke Nukem 3D, just to avoid using too much the boxed version.

In the local market and ads, found a nice psu from OCZ and a case from Fractal to make it's home.

The cool thing about this psu is that almost every cap is from reputable brands, like Nippon Chemi and Rubycon, the exception is the main smoothing cap, being a lesser one from Teapo.

I did not use any test patterns yet. The ghosting and noise are almost invisible on my monitor. It is only when I tested the OSSC's output on a Datapath E1S, whith real-time zooming on preview video, that I noticed it and was able to also confirm its presence on my usual monitor . No issues are visible when the Voodoo 3 is directly connected to the monitor .

I could have tested direct VGA capture on the E1S, but the VGA cables I have are too short.

That said, if you are not going to be capturing video at above 1024×768 through the OSSC, this is practically a non issue on a 25" monitor like mine, IMHO . I am, however, too much of a perfectionist to let it slide .

EDIT:
See Re: VGA Capture Thread for some samples .

I got this Siemens w26361 w10 with a pentium iii 700/256/100 for about nothing along with a ton of other stuff.
Anyone know something about it? It's an OEM so is it worth having? I guess it can't do 133 fsb since it came with that processor.
Chipset is FW82443BX

Thanks a lot 😁
The board is only 66/100mhz fsb and it looks like its autodetects it.

Those Fujitsu Siemens boards were always a favorite of mine. Usually using standard PSU connectors and are capable of using a FS royalty OEM version of Windows XP (though not certain this will work on your particular board) which would be pre-activated when installed on a compatible FS board, so these never needed to be activated.
The FS version of Windows XP was barely bloated if at all.
These boards typically have few options in the BIOS, but I see them as higher quality boards. Their systems were typically paired with an FSP PSU and not some El Cheapo featherweight, so these boards would usually not be subjected to unstable powerrails.

Not much good for overclocking though, but I loved them as these would just work and I prefer stability over overclocking any day 😁

Definitely a keeper in my book (provided it is functioning properly of course).

Thanks, will keep it, or sell it to fund my other projects😅 I want that 133fsb. Thinking the Soyo SY-6VBA133 might be the one 😊

Got some more stuff also ^^ About 2kg of ram, 30 pin, 72pin, SDR and 2 coast modules (for ~50usd). Also a beast of a Nokia 445Xi. Its feels like a ton hauling it up the stairs😂 Unfortunately it got a scratch, im wondering if i will remove the antiglare or not. I think it will stay on for now at least.
