It's GP in this machine so no leaks, also I'm pretty aware of these things, it's my fifth or something like this PC10/20-III and I have a couple more Commodore PC machines (different models) 😉

well I've also had plenty of leaky GPs, usually not as bad, but enough to start corrosion ^^

I honestly don't remember if there was a Varta or GP on mine as I've just thrown it into the JAR of DEATH with the rest of them... but while not that bad, the board already had some widespread corrosion all over the area.

Survived shipment in an envelope...

Interesting card, but only drivers for Win98 available as far as I can see.

Guillemot Maxi Studio ISIS. Its interesting card indeed. I also have this card in the original box with all the addons.

The Box specifically states under minimum requirements (Win98,95,DOS 5.0) for games.
So there should definitely be pure DOS drivers.

I have the ISOs on my Google Drive:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/11cZPg … lW-?usp=sharing

It looks like you have to install the Windows drivers to install the DOS drivers.

Pleasantly surprised it has SB-Link. Will see how it stacks up against the S2DG2

Also picked up a 360 Elite, listed as unused and seems to be that way. Decided to grab it, since getting unaltered 360s is not that easy.

Also have these cards with the breakout box.

Windows drivers can be confusing as they refer to two chipsets and it's true the breakout box is a soundcard in its self. You switch between them depending on modes.

No one has shown it working in dos but there is a thread here about a laptop using a Maestro 2em working in dos.

Hopefully Cyclone's method can work.

edit:

http://www.it-he.org/sound.php#maestro2
"To run in DOS:
You must run c:\maestro.com
The MSTRINF.INI file must be in C:\"

Nice! Eventually I think I am going to try to get a Gus PnP as well since it has the AMD Interwave chip instead of the GF1.

THANK YOU very much for sharing the ISOs! I need to set up a Win9x PC first for testing. A Windows 7 driver would be more convenient 😁

The board looks beautiful. Now I wish I had a red board like that but with ISA slot for the GUS. 😀

Absolutely you should, it's a great card. Maybe aim for the Pro model because it has GUS Classic compatibility with the 512KB memory.

Bought FX-3000 one of this early 486 boards with proprietary local bus slot.

DSC_8479-1-scaled.jpeg

Sadly it doesn't have 386 socket fitted, but it might be possible to solder one in.

Just got in the mail an interesting little voltage adapter for 486, it came with a AMD DX2-80 @ near 32€. A good bargain if it works.

On this passed days also received some big box games that do have some cool factor to them.

As a foot note, Loadstar was a epic flop. Curiously I did play the demo back in the day ( a lot), but never seen a copy in the wild, or in stores at the time. As a youngster I was bewildered and marveled by this type of full-motion-movie like games.
Afterword of buying this game found out that Elon Musk was a programmer on the team of Loadstar, it was strange enough to indulge in a "guilty pleasure" of sorts, and worst yet to have associated with "Tesla fanboy" label. LoL
