I have two of these Geforce2Mx's(PCI) and have always been wondering why there's no heatsink.

Someone has taken down the heatsink, probably for other card. Another reason is, as in its time, it was famous for overclocking, they've put something bigger on it, that covered also memory. As geforce 2 MX most performance gain was through overclocking memory. Most of GF2MX gained 20-25% after overclocking in most favourites resolution in its time 1024x768x32.

I doubt these were user-modified overclocking cards... many many Geforce 2 MX cards were produced and sold without heatsinks. They could function fine this way and I have had at least a couple dozen like this in the last few years. For what it's worth, I have never come across an MX with an aftermarket heatsink.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

This is surreal.... I never thought that I would get an Amiga1200 for the price of shipping plus what I then decide that it is worth. Right now it is stripped down and the board is hooked up, in order to let it sit idle for that fishy smell. If it needs a recap, then the price will be lowered. After the initial idling, then I will hook up more stuff. The case however, is not that beautifull. It is really yellowed.

There were no accelerator inside the machine, however there are the original 120mb Conner drive, and I hope it works. Else there are always CF cards. Kickstart are 3.0 (need to buy 3.1.4 anyway) and the board revision is 1D.1 and is cosmetically in excellent shape.

Have you tried powering the Amiga on yet? Will be interesting to see if it's working or not. Definitely replace the HDD with a larger CF card, then you can use WHDLoad to load all your games and not have to rely on Floppy Disks or Gotek. I went with a 16GB CF card for mine.

Regarding Kickstart, I still have 3.0 in my Amiga 1200 and I've not had any issues with it. So far it does everything I need it to.

Bought another "scrap" motherboard from Russia. This time a Forex 386DX. Looks to have a cracked 74-series IC between ISA slots, some small battery leakage and a couple of missing pins in the first ISA slot. I have all the parts needed so thought it would be worth a try.

I just received some of those green Nvidia P50 that are Quadros DCC cards based on a Geforce 3. It has a shiny green color.
Are the driver recommendation from here is still up to date? Re: Quadro DCC - Some drivers will not work?

Yup, it has been powered on. The floppy drive is completely dead, spinning violently and making strange noises. I will have to take a closer look on it.
Though I am in luck as I have a couple of loose drives ready. So far I have cleaned it up and are in the process of soaking the keycaps in soap water.

Once it is all ready to be tested in dept, then I will do it. As of now it is back in a cleaned bottom shell with the shield.
Speaking of. Then I have cleaned rust stains off the shield, using vinagre and finally sealing the spots off.
Also, a small pecentage of the yellow were actually orange. And yes, it is bromide yellow as well as it had a layer of nicotine on top.
The nicotine cleaned off in no time, yet the bromide yellow need retrobright if I want to. Personally I will go for a new case.

EDIT:
Regarding the kickstart and all that. Then I have plans with this machine. In time it will get some serious upgrades.
I am thinking about scandoubler, accelerator and all that. I have had better experiences with microdrives, than I have had with CF or SD
cards in my Amiga600. Those microdrives transfer faster than CF cards.

it's a cheap (well at least one of the cheapest I found ^^) hama copy/repro stand I snapped up on ebay, basically a stand specifically made for photography like this, the only downside with this one is that it isn't quite tall enough to cover a larger motherboard with a comfortable longer focal length.

like I said I still have to work out lighting and change the background, the lines are nice for working out the placement and all but the structure of the table eats up file size quite a bit ^^
there were two adjustable lights included but one of them has a broken mount that needs repair (hence why it was cheaper) but I wanna swap those out with LED panels anyways.

my goal is to basically have a static setup for the least effort post-processing the images, I basically just wanna snap a pic of each board, card etc. and use it as is out of camera ^^

Every A1200 needs recap. Board in original shape is a timebomb.

Done testing the 1200. There are some issues, that need to be fixed. First it gives a slight smell of fish from one capacitor, so it needs a full recap.

Other stuff that needs to be fixed, are a new membrane and a new floppy drive. Else it is in perfect shape. Cosmetically it needs a new case.
I have mailed the seller an offer, because he wanted me to test it and see what kind of issues it has. Also, it was just sitting in a closet doing nothing,
and he would rather have someone take it over in order for it to be looked after.

Needed a new CD-Rom unit in my Pentium 75 rig to reinstall Windows 95, after crashing it with a driver installation.
PS. Anyone knows how could I remove the 52x marking on it? Please PM me. Thanks.

Inspired by a recent Phil video, I thought I'd try using a G41 motherboard to build a Windows 98 box with PCIe. He also showed that you could use the X800 driver with a Fire GL, so I picked one of those up for a pretty reasonable price. But the seller shipped it in bubble wrap with no anti static bag (!) and sure enough, it barely has a display. Why do people do things like that?

Bought some more parts for a 386 build:

- BOCA Research 1MB CL-GD5428 VGA
- TI 486DLC-40 CPU
- AMD Am386DX/DXL-40 CPU
- Cyrix FasMath 83D87-40 FPU

On the hunt for some reasonably priced 60ns 4MB 30pin simms now.

Nothing too special today. I got a XT-IDE kit (rev 4A) as a replacement for my 5160 and an Ultimate Atari Video mod kit (rev D) for my Darth Vader 2600.
