79L05 is not a transistor but a voltage regulator. It takes +12V input from the wavetable connector and outputs -5V.

ps: you need to check U1 and C13 (damaged -> replace)

Thanks!
C13 seems to be OK, only a scratch on the surface. Lokks worser on the photo than it is.

For U1 there seems to be a "second" connector pad with 4 pins which is unsed. It looks the same on the reference photo
http://www.amoretro.de/2011/06/terratec-waves … 24-ver-2-0.html

So I think both is OK.

Might be just the light, but on the picture it looks as C13 has a small dent in the middle. In this case, it must be replaced as it would cause a short inside the cap.

U1 is skewed. Soldering points are not original, it was probably re-soldered in the past. The upper four pins seem to have too few solder, the other ones have too much. I would de-solder it, clean the pads, and re-solder it properly.

Why does img=640x480 tag not work? Thought it was part of bbcode...

The card on the right is not missing its RAM, but has upgrade sockets for adding additional memory, as far as I can see.

Sorry about the size, seems like the forum doesn't use the newest bbcode. But no, I'm not Russian myself... I'm a Chinese student of Russian major 🤣.

The butterfly ThinkPad. That's amazing to see that.

This lot of floppy drives for about what a single tested 5.25" floppy drive normally goes for on eBay.

Well, this week has been a lucky week for my Dell GX150.

Yesterday, I found a CL listing for NIB Dell M782 (not M782p) CRT monitors, I called the seller and they told me that they had plenty in stock and were willing to sell me one for $20. Today, I came to pick it up and brought it home new in the box (as previously mentioned if you're used to abbreviations).

Now I have a backup monitor in case my old M782p dies out (the lifespan is questioned due to the hissing noises). CRT monitors are getting harder to find these days so I decided to seize the opportunity to get an extra one.

I really wanted this model case, so when a complete system with it showed up I bought it. I paid a bit more than I wanted to, but I am happy to have it. It is in really good shape and rest of the system is also quite nice. Someone put a lot of work in restoring and building it, it is super-clean and runs very well.

I had forgotten how compact & cramped the case is, and the motherboard is in 'upside-down'.

Ahahaha, you're the one who snatched it! The seller got like double he asked for.
I let it go because it had a soldered CPU.
