Got a nice surprise today.

Last weekend I ordered some removable 5.25" drive bays on eBay - one IDE, one SCSI. The SCSI bay was cheap and had a tiny lousy picture, so didn't expect much of it. Then the postman arrived:

Not only was this thing completely NOS new in box (with courtesy mini screwdriver!), it is also the most solidly built heavy steel drive enclosure I have ever seen. I like it so much I'm going to see if they also did IDE or SATA and dig up the SCA-80 bay I know they made, even if they cost me quite a bit more.

It's one if the last iMac G3's models made. I like Mac's because you get a Display and computer all-in-one with either a Macintosh classis, iMac or Macbook.
And it is usually good spec components for it time.

I have a graphite iMac too (although it's a late-1999 model), the original owner painted a cheetah print on its outer shell, but I could tell it was graphite because of the colors on the front (particularly the optical drive slot and the speaker grates). Too bad its optical drive is dead and replacement drives are difficult to find, at least my external Firewire DVD-RW drive works with it.

You do know that 7.5.3 and the upgrade to 7.5.5 are free to download from Apple, don't you?

What's the point in showing us generic stock images from a Mac? I thought this thread was about posting the actual stuff you received...
Also you can edit your posts to merge contents and improve readability.

I can only say, that I used other peoples pictures before. Yet they were the sellers photo of the specific item that I personally bought. And I always make sure to note, that the picture is sellers photo. Sometimes you just want to show your purchase, the same day you bought it.

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.

I more and more get the impression that he/she actually doesn't own a single item of what he/she is presenting in this thread which is by no means a big problem (owning hardware is nothing to build self-esteem on) but it somehow derails the thread if there are series of 5 consecutive posts showing stock images on every single page.

You are right. I don't think of myself as owning anything. I am just borrowing it. The creators are sharing it with us as an educational tool.
As you know your money is owned by your government and your car and house too. We just make payments and pay taxes so we can use it.
The sellers of these computers sold it to me to share. And I am sharing it with you.

This week's (and this month's last) loot.

ZIDA-5-STX.jpg Intel-Pentium-MMX-200.jpg Creative-Graphics-Blaster-CT6700.jpg

I also have 4 Voodoo cards and a motherboard at various stages of repairs, and if I finish them I will post their photos next week. That will be it for this month and possibly the next (unless I see a great deal).
