this thing was like 10kilos of memory, hurts my back

it is ALL 128mb pc133 sticks, from good brand hynix, toshiba, infineon and micron
second photo just shows the single sided memory sticks
third photo shows the dual sided memory sticks
(i took those apart because dual sided are more compatible?)

some sticks got the traces on the back, i was thinking about experimenting taking out chips and making a 256memory, but seems very difficult to do, besides its not only the memory there must be some kind of smd capacitors too and other things.

then i said..ah, retro, win98, 128x3...384mb is more than enough for windows98
so im fine, because for winxp i would use another pc

Great looking cards, I like the 4400 in particular: that blowfish heatsink always makes me smile!

Today I had to buy some new hardware because a piece of retro-chic I'd had for the past decade died on me - my trusty old 3Com 3CGSU08 Gb switch died on me. Even though the Zyxel GS1200 that replaced it is superior in every way - managed, 60W 802.3at PoE and even so lower standby power usage - it still doesn't feel the same 😉

UMC U5S-SUPER33 - basically a 486SX clone. And the next piece in my 100% UMC system - I already had motherboard and NIC, now all I'm desperately searching for is the SVGA-multi I/O combination VLB card. I found one on eBay, but it's priced higher than I'm willing to pay right now, so I'll just have to be patient - or cough up the money.

Could have done with more protection though - the CPU pins were all over the place, took me a good 10 mins bending them back to a state where they fit into a socket.

A Toshiba Tecra 720CDT laptop, docking station, and external floppy drive (needs some work done to it), hopefully this works great for DOS/early Windows gaming/programs so I'll no longer have to put up with my Satellite's DSTN screen (this beauty has a 13" TFT @ 1024x768).

Did one of you snag that CT2760 with waveblaster that was on eBay for like 5 minutes?

I think this is the fastest processor my motherboard (Abit KT7A) can use without a socket mod.

Cool. Thought I recognized the board name. I used to have that motherboard years ago, but sadly, the USB 1.1 ports broke, and the board is long gone by now. Had 512MB of RAM installed, an Athlon 900, and was later upgraded to a Socket AM2+ back in February, 2008.
