Just received a Nexterm RT-500 powered by an AMD Geode LX800 500MHz with 512MB of RAM, not too bad for the grand price of 500 yens:

That thing has plastic screws, that's one way to save weight!

Nvidia GeForce FX5950 Ultra ... seller sold as FOR PARTS OR NOT WORKING. Offered $45 (was listed at $100) --- the card works great and looks almost new. 😁

These were mediocre in DOS, but nothing can touch it in Windows 3.1.

Weitek cards have become pretty uncommon these days.

Went to RE-PC today and found a perfectly clean ti500. I hope that it works. I also got a Vortex2, YMF724, and an ESS ISA sound card.

It works! but the fan is loud as heck.

Awesome find!!!
Should be able to find a cheap replacement fan on eBay.
That card is worth it.

I think this is the P9000, right? There was a later version, caled the P9100 which is improved. Although I have not used one of these cards, I seem to recall the P9000 excelled at 256 colour modes, but not so much at higher colour depths. I *think* the P9100 may have rectified that.
Also, at the time of release (1993) nothing could touch the P9000, but I think it was outclassed by later cards such as the S3 968 and the Mach64. I'm not really sure where the 9100 fits in here, but I don't really remember it beating the 64-bit cards.

Nice! I actually bought a New old stock XT from a german ebay seller years ago, and it came in the exact same case. I wonder it there's a secret stash of these cases hidden somewhere in Germany 🤣

Unfortunately the PSU in mine blew a few months ago so I sold the case as it seemed hard to source a replacement PSU.

how is this 300w startech and a ATX to AT with a 3.3v load for the replacement PSU situation?

I was lucky at a flea market today, 15 Euros for the following pieces. Everything except the mainboard is actually working, so it was a really, really great deal.
Note the Voodo Banshee, I was so happy.
The cards where plastic wrapped before, I didn't think they would work at first, but given the price it was worth a shot. The ESD protected bags are mine and I've
moved all components into ESD protected bags after testing them.
The voodoo (my favorite piece of the lot):

An oaktech VGA card
oaktech.jpg
The mainboard is not working, it would have been a super socket 7 board with 100 MHz FSB. It does not even provide a beep, so I assume that it is truly dead. Maybe
the BIOS got badly flashed or electrical discharge killed it.

GIB! Can you do some recordings of the CT1350b? I want to compare how a real one sounds to the ones emulated in 86Box and PCem. Thanks

Hi! Will do, let me figure out the source of a strange popping sound during the Monkey Island intro and will PM you to discuss what to test it with!

Alrighty you retro-maniacs! Artex is back in the saddle on this wonderful Father's Day (Happy Father's day to all you fathers out there!). Speaking of fathers, let's talk about the grand-daddy of sound card 'fathers' - or perhaps great, great, great Grandfathers...

So I have a bare version, a boxed but incomplete version, and now....the whole shebang! Not only is finding one of these tough, but boxed is even tougher, boxed and complete is even tougher, but boxed, complete & with the optional surround/reverb module is pretty much unobtaniaum!

So here you go!

Ensoniq SoundScape Elite (S2016-II) ISA #3 (1994)

This is my 3rd bare (also have two boxed) Ensoniq SoundScape Elites. I have a mild obsession with this card's wavetable patch-set and I still think it's on-par with the SC-55MK/MKII if not a better with this DSP dauhterboard. The first machine (I bought myself) was back in 1995, and was a Gateway 2000 P5-75 with the OEM version of the SoundScape S-2000 with the 2MB patch set. I was always in awe and wondered what the Elite version could offer. DOOM, Duke3D, ROTT... so many memories of that sweet, sweet MIDI.

I've also been on a processor kick lately, finding some good stuff. Starting with the very rare Barton 3200+ and the AMD K6-III+550! I also snagged a Cyrix 5x86-100GP, but the 4X version which is pretty rare nowadays. The Intel 387 DX is pretty neat given it's still sealed from 1993 - and I love that you can see that little coproc peeping out from the box saying "drop me into an SX board!" Other than that, a set of twinsie K6-III+ 450s for a few retro boxes.

I bought another MT-32 for 40€. I already have one, but who could say no at that price? It’s a rev. 1 as far as I can tell. It was used by a musician and has seen some action. Drill holes for rack mount on the side, case got painted black at some point. Insides look pristine and the module works just fine (it’s the top one in the picture).
The case is a bit ugly so I am thinking of getting it sanded and spraypainted.

I think you should disperse some of these assets to protect against fire/tornado/alien invasion. I selflessly volunteer my services for storing and periodically testing them. PM me if interested. 😎

I have four of them (Rev 2, 4 and 2x6 I think). I can do some recording later this week if you want (I have good pro grade audio interface). I wanted to do some comparison anyway. CT1350Bs were usually very noisy (you could literally hear the data flowing through the buses 🤣 - a lot like a coil whine on modern graphic cards) - I doubt they emulated it in PCem 😉
