Now all thats needed is to have it be plugged in next to one of those mid 2000s cards with the scantily dressed girls on the cooler for...reasons 🤣

Received this lot today for not too much money. Main reason to buy it was to save some nice parts from the srapers. Slot brackets are included:

My highlights are:
- old school Chips 80286 Mainbaord. Unfortunately the battery seems to be exploded and the CPU socket seems to be damaged...never seen such type of socket, maybe some part is missing...

Ordered a power adapter for a Toshiba Satellite P25-s509 laptop that I am going to turn into a DOS/Win98se gaming laptop.

Pentium 4 2.8Ghz CPU, 512MB DDR
Nice 17" screen, but really sad Geforce fx go5200 video card. Should be fine for win98se era games though.

Built in sound supports SB Pro according to Toshiba.

I also think some parts are missing, looks like a "LGA" socket for 286: http://www.s100computers.com/Hardware%20Folde … 286/CPU-286.htm

I'm guessing they are just referring to running DOS programs through Windows command prompt

Very interesting ... never seen this. I dont have such a CPU as spare part. But also looking at the fire damage...there is no chance to repair this board 😵 This board was the main reason I bought the whole lot..but will try to sell most parts again to get the money back 🤣

Well, I didn't expect to win this NOS base model MSI 694D Pro2 motherboard with my $15 max bid.

I actually already have two of these. One with RAID and firewire and a second one with RAID but no firewire. I guess one with neither options is good for longevity. No useless fire wire headers or a silly promise RAID chip to die.

But then again, seeing empty silkscreens hurts me on the inside.

I just got an assorted lot of 15 NOS slot 1 (and slot A?) CPU coolers, in their boxes for $22 shipped. Considering how much these things seem to go for individually on eBay, that seemed quite reasonable. It'll also be nice to have a source of tiny fans to harvest off of them to put on old video cards if need be. I'm not sure if its misplaced, but I have more confidence in the quality of a tiny cheapo fan from 1999 over a tiny cheapo fan from 2017.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

My Gateway M685E's sound card makes the same claims and it's a CoreDuo machine with a Go 7600GT. Which is weird considering even under windows it has issues with every other game I try sound wise (One of two times I've ever had issues with onboard sound and games)

Ten bucks, couldn't resist. And yes, it works fine. I stuck the disc into my car stereo on the way home & was grooving to the lovely Green Day mix that came pre-loaded.

So unlike half these random pick-ups, I actually have a use-case for this: burning MDs to play in the car. Worth it. 😜

Also it added a medium to my growing collection of obsolete spinny media, so can't complain.

I have a Slot-A CPU that I mounted a S939 heatpipe cooler on. It doesn't even get warm whereas the crappy Slot-A coolers get hot enough to burn you because they don't dissipate squat, even if they have some 6,000 rpm san-ace fans on them.

I have another one in the works sitting in a bin that I never finished modding.

got me a Asus A7N8X Deluxe with a 3200+ Barton today, however I noticed the 4 holes. Since it had no cooler along with it just the CPU I wondered what mount (754 or 939) it is? (never worked with anything newer then Socket A before) This would make searching for a high end cooler far more easier and even open the option for water cooling 😎

57_3.jpg

also a new PSU to go with the Mobo (Hiper Type-R 580W)

1z_YGjm_MVF4mx_VKJ.jpg

and also 2 Gb of DDR 3200 ram.

edit: corrrected the PSU name.

That power supply is a piece of shit. http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDR … =Story3&reid=85 I hope you didn't pay much for it.

thats a totally different PSU, also the reviews on it were quite good from multiply reviewes. The inside is also rock solid, heavy and has dual fans (and no I didn't pay much for it even though it was NOS, everything was still packed)

Might not be the best PSU out there or even close, but I bet it would do fine on a old Athlon XP or Piii box or any other 5V heavy system. Attest its not a deer.
