Both was from trade the keyboard for one Mitsumi normal one, nothing special, the laptop was trade for 2GB DDR 800 ( the memory it did cost me only 2.50 euros)...
Good thing is all on the laptops is working great the keyboard all keys, all the ports are working, the hardware itself HDD, RAM, CPU the display. Only thing making problems was the inverter did a problems, but i did open the plastic panels and fix it up, so now even this is working 100%. The bad side is the cosmetic state of the Armada is not very good scratches, many broken plastic elements, but im overall happy.

For the Cherry im so sad is not a damn mechanical Cherry as i will like to have one of them as well, but is still something, after all is made in Germany not China..
I also lost a deal for IBM Model M (UK one) from the pics did seems to have missing only 1 or 2 caps and was overall look good, but s**t happens.....

Im a big fan of Compaq overall, they was something special, just like IBM, very well build machines.

Bought a new in box Intel Pentium Overdrive 5V 83MHz ZIF-237 (Socket 3) for $68 shipped on eBay (I made an offer, but the seller made another one, and I accepted it).

I love the color of this thing. Would look amazing in a silver case from the time.

Usually not posting about accessories/small items but as a buckling-spring fan myself this one deserves it. Got one of these brand new ones as long as supplies still last. Professionally bolt-modded so I expect it to literally outlast me then 🤣

Have to agree it here. That's an awesome color combination on that board and green AMD fan rounds it up all very nicely.

Sooo.... my great finds as of late is apparently continuing.

And then comes the horror... is that rust from the battery or from the case getting wet? I kinda think the motherboard is toast, but what is that sound card? I don't recognize that output arangement... hmmm Getting interesting.. maybe I can salvage that case. :

An Ensoniq card.... is that what I think it is? A few minutes later after doing an image search.... 😲 😲 😲 It is, an Ensoniq Soundscape S-2000 😎

Then the wait and hoping that nobody else will bid on it.... and I got it. 😎

Nice sounds card, even in box is so rare to see in such condition. The old Creative SB from that years are using high quality components, while the newer ones like SB Live, Audigy, X-fi are using crap ones..
Nice to see SOYO Dragon Platinum series, is not the one im looking for, but is still nice. This one is better SY-KT600 DRAGON Ultra Platinum, wondering why Soyo don`t have a single nForce based board, seems they did hate nvidia...

This is definitely from some water, not the battery. I can remember seeing some guys using their old computers to put flowers with pot cakes on them, and the water was spilling on the computer and did some damage, but not like yours, yours seems really bad, slappydamn people that don`t deserve the old nice hardware they have...

Sadly, I don't have board with native support yet (I managed to do Single GPU tests on my Rampage II Extreme with PCI-e 8x mode, no POST - however after driver installation, in Single GPU mode, card works fine in desktop).

The listing said that it had been stored in an attic for years.... but who knows what happened to it before that or if maybe there was a leak in the roof or something. Could also be that there was just a scratch in the metal and humidity damaged it over time.

DFI NF4's had an option in BIOS explicitly for the dual-GPU 6600. Maybe others like MSI K8N had it too.

Had some really nice goodies that i had to share:

After a couple of years i finally found a working Pentium PRo board, this one is a biostar and came complete and boxed. NOS, picture made after testing.

Some time ago i posted here about finding the great Gainward bliss 7800GS+ 512mb agp special edition. This one has the 24p core instead of the normal 16p so basicly it is a 7900GT in disguise.
These seem to be a bit rare and only 1500 of these were sold. Well, i have 2 now because i found a boxed version and had to have that too 😎

Everything tested and working fine! Except for the Pentium Pro 1mb cpu as the biostar board only supports 256kb and 512kb cpu's. Will have to find a board for this awesome cpu..

This is actually common. Look for a bios update. That should help. I have an Asus dual board ( P65up5/cp6nd) And there are 2 revisions of the motherboard. The older one will not run 1mb chips no matter what.

So it is a possibility, the 1mb chip will never work. That said, even if the 1mb chip will never work, the 333mhz overdrive will. 😀

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

In other news, this came up in one of my searches. https://www.ebay.com/itm/10PCS-IS61C1024-10N- … 872.m2749.l2649

The price is just too good to be true. Hopefully they aren't too fake. 1mb of L2 cache for my 486 for $11 shipped? I just had to try!

Why too good to be true? I mean.. how much of a demand is there for that sort of thing now days? If they have a huge amount of stock and are just trying to get rid of it I can see it easily being that cheap.

I've added that sale to my watch list for future reference for once I get a 486 setup up and running.
