It does appear to have a voltage clamp chip on it, so it should allow you to run a Coppermine in a pre-VRM 8.4 board, assuming the BIOS recognizes it.

Thanks for the tip! I just cleaned and lubed the fan and it's running smooth and silent, but that link will likely come in handy in the future when I can't save one.

Cleaning out years or built up dust and gunk is so satisfying.

I got my hands on a working one just last week for about 7$ and I know it was a steal, but I'm don't know what the reasonable price is for these today.

$7 is definitely a steal. I paid $35 for mine, which was at the top of my price range. I missed out on a couple CT6960's over the last 6 months, some cheaper than $35, and just got tired of waiting. 🤣 It's still a good bit cheaper than what a few have gone for on eBay recently.

I've seen one that has the DDR memory go for about $88 + S&H. $35 is a pretty good price for that video card.

I have a box full of working Geforce 256 / DDR / 2 GTS / 2 Ultra / 3 I guess it's time to sell them now 😁

I sold my SDR for 50 EUR last year..

I sold a DDR recently for EUR 25 - could probably have gotten more, but I got it as part of a larger lot that didn't cost me much, so didn't want to rip anyone else off either.

Recently sold a Geforce 256 sdram version (Asus) for 30 euro. DDR is much more sought after and should bring quite a bit more. Still, not an extremely rare card imho. The Geforce2 Ultra and the Geforce 3 ti500 are way harder to find.

Agreed. The SDRAM GeForce 256's are definitely more common. Which isn't too surprising since the DDR model launched a bit later at a high price, and was replaced only a few months later by the GeForce 2 GTS. I've had luck on the GeForce 3 Ti 500 with Dell OEM part numbers. The GeForce 2 Ultra has eluded me thus far though. So many of them are Quadro 2's.

That GPU box art is so 90's it hurts. 🤣

Specifically from the 96-99 period. I really hated box art at the time. Suddenly all boxes for computer hardware had to feature "cool" normies on them. Usually some idiot with spikey hair who looked like the shamwow guy.

About to buy this ATX case, simply because beige ATX cases are getting rarer hereabouts. It looks strangely like an Aptiva but no IBM branding - can anyone tell me what timeframe this is from? Would it be a good, time correct-ish case for my K6-2?

Picked up a beige case for a 5er a couple of weeks back, but I'll share it today 'cause I can.
Was covered in a ton of dirt, like it was buried or something. Had a s462 motherboard with all caps bulging and tons of corrosion, so that was disposed of. Kept the 1GHz Athlon that was in it.
The case itself has a few minor scratches on the outside and nothing bad on the inside - no rust and all shiny.

PSU sits on the side to save space, however that rules out more powerhungry builds (like athlon based) due to poor airflow. I did that mistake 15 years ago.

Currently being used for a SS7 build 😎

That EV700 and all the Gateway monitors with the "EV" designation were produced after the triniton patent expired, by LG.

The Vivitron monitors made up until mid 96 were Sony for the 15 and 17, and Mitsubishi for the 21" and was licensed from Sony.

Looks good to me. Off-hand I would assume it's from the late-1990s or early-2000s, I don't know the exact year it was made, so this is my guess.

I have worked with quite a number of these actually. They usually featured 250W PSUs made by Spire or AOpen or something, can't remember exactly but they would usually feature ASUS sA boards (A7V or A7V133). The cases I saw did have the more standard PSU orientation. I believe these cases were made around 2000 and I considered these quite good build quality. The airflow in these cases was not so good though. They had spots where you could mount a fan and in the metal were lots of tiny holes.

I ended up getting to take quite a lot of these home with me. My Celeron 800 rig is build into one of these and pics of it can be seen here

I got my GeForce2 Ultra via a dell part number.
