I lowballed this guy 20USD and he accepted. It's listed as a K6-2 400 but it's clearly is an Evergreen Spectra with the voltage regulator needed to install it on much older boards that would normally not support it.

Now, I gotta figure out a use for it. 😀

Not much going on, a Cirrus Logic GD-5446. I'll use this one with the socket 7 mobo I recently acquired.

Great card. I am not complaining about my 5446's.... Close to the fast S3 cards, in terms of speed.
You will only be able to tell when benching, as this feels the same as its S3 counterparts.
Sometimes the 5446 outperforms the S3's and sometimes it is the other way around.

Just received second clone of ensoniq soundscape s-2000 by SPEA... the one on top.
Funny is that the one on bottom looks exactly like original ensoniq, it even has a "(C) ensoniq" on pcb - so it look like rebranded ensoniq card...
The second one (on top) is definitely a clone...

Is this a freezer cooling section 😲 ?

It's a phase-change internal cooling solution for extreme overclocking. They were sold as a commercially available product at one point in time. One of the more popular manufacturers were Koolance had a line of these for a while, I remember seeing em for sale online at one point in time by koolance.. this one up there seems to be some other brand.

It looks like you actually have everything you need for the cooling system.. provided the compressor's not seized or low on coolant. Sourcing those unique stand-off mounts might be your only problem. Does look like fun to play with though.. I'm actually rather jealous, What'd you pay for it?

Wow that refrigerated case looks really nice! I remember seeing ads for the Vapochill version in the early 2000s. In fact, a Google search for "vapochill" still finds an installation manual for one of their systems, which involves drilling holes in your existing PC case and attaching their unit underneath, which looks like what has been done here.

Looking at the manual you have to smear your CPU *socket* with a special (nonconductive) thermal compound which seems rather scary!

Bag of 20 VRAM chips arrived from AliExpress today. Took about 20 days to get, but for $18 shipped, it was worth it.

Not much really, I scored a brand new BTC ATX case. It even came with the PC speaker 😀

I remember those cases from back in the early 2000s, after the iMac craze, heck, there were even matching mice and keyboards.

I was going to use it for the M571 build. Was, because then I found another listing for an AT case which is the exact same generic model I had back in 97.

Nice system too, not know about this company. I will use this just for fun with HW which can go to hell, not rare parts 😀 First need general control and some little repairs damaged wires and connectors etc. Need search manual and original software too. Dont get CD with it.
