Why were you expecting to have DDR memory? Neither the KT133 nor the KT133A support DDR. And the 3 memory sockets should tell the story.
KT266 was the first VIA chipset (for AMD) to support DDR.

KT266 was the first socket 462 DDR chipset for VIA, but the AMD 761 (usually paired with a VIA 686) was earlier to market, I think.

I bought and received 2 NOS 486 coolers locally.
Both with transparant plastic for fan and housing around the small heatsink.
Did cost me a whopping €5,- for both 😀

Now I can finally finish my first 486 build with a decent cooler.

Nice! 486 coolers are getting hard to find for a good price.

I've recently purchased two different lots of heatsinks/fans mainly for the 486 coolers. I even got some NOS ones including some that fit your description.

I think I am set for the foreseeable future in regards to 486, socket 7 / 370 coolers and a few other in that size range.

I'd sort of given up local thrift shops for anything other than the odd keyboard, but old habits die hard, particularly when visiting my old 200x stomping grounds. And lo and behold the place I picked up lots of PCI cards then had stuff now too:

Stuffed all three cards into my test PC and all instantly worked too (although that Creative 3D Blaster TNT2 Ultra fan sounds a bit worse for wear)

Clean it, peel the sticker off gently, and put a drop of sewing machine oil into the hole.
Reseat the sticker, and wait an hour or two, then let the card run until it sounds ok.
This works 9 out of 10 times for me, and will fix the fan for another year.
Or simply buy a replacement fan. (more fun to fix an old fan though)

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.

I have a couple of 5950 Ultras that I wanted to use their original HSF unit and they are as good as new with this method. I use a slightly different oil, but same result.

I bought this off of Craigslist. http://imgur.com/gallery/OudAJeQ

I paid a bit more than I'd like to admit, but the opportunity to get these OG Lian-Li cases are getting less frequent.

mobo needs a recap, i was told the processors were 280's. 4gb of ram. the UV lights were dead, the inverter is blown. God I'm glad that fad was short lived.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Next lot from the previous seller. Told me that he found everything in a trash bin, but obviously without any case.

Best oil I have found to use is full-synthetic Mobile-1 engine oil. It won't break down or dry out like petroleum based oil does. I have a small space heater that somebody threw out because the fan was seized up in it.

I took it apart, cleaned out the dried up oil, put a few drops of Mobile-1 full-synthetic oil in it, and it has been working great for the past 5+ winters.

I started using the same oil for computer fans even before that and have never had one seize up or start making noise again after using the same oil. 5w-30 or 10w-30 works just fine. I use whatever I have on hand.

Does that even work with high speed fans? I have a couple of decent 60mm ball bearing fans that are still too noisy even with silicone lubricant.

Today's thing was a Marcus branded AT case, bought with a PC Chips motherboard and a Pentium 233 MMX:

The case, with a 1XX LED turbo indicator and a "Yes tech" power supply:

The case front is upside down because almost all of the plastic mounts were snapped off in shipping, because a thin layer of bubble wrap and a few bits of polystyrene are not enough to protect a computer case from the Parcel Force.

The plan is to put a 486 into this case and evict the TX Pro II motherboard 😀

Was it still sealed up? Rare you find those not torn into and pieces missing.

That is an interesting board. I have never seen those memory sockets on a motherboard, but a lot on video cards.

I have the exact same board. Mine came with a 166MHz Pentium. The Phoenix BIOS in this board is terrible, it couldn't cope with more than one PnP card at the same time. It would refuse to boot if i had say an Audician 32 and a GUS PnP. Just to make sure i tested other combinations of PnP cards and the result was the same.

I wonder if i can find a MR BIOS for this board, it would make it much useful and actually a pretty nice board for a DOS build with those 5 ISA slots.

Yes, agree. Dont know if these are regular memory or cache chips. There seems to be no onboard video.

Hmm, mine is also Phoenix. Maybe I have a newer revision with the bugs fixed, can check later if you are interested.

Nothing really helps... the axle weared out, it will vibrate again later. And this is bad, because i also like the authentic cooler.
