Grabbed this today:

1. Looks like some kind of clone (sb16? ) at CMI8329A and with DSP24(fake OPL?)

2. 2x Socket 370 dummies, com->ps2 adapter and Xeon sticker

I was browsing the local Value Village again and picked up a Gravis Gamepad and something called the InterAct Cyclone 3D:

It looks like it uses a keyboard passthrough to emulate additional buttons (similar to the Gravis Firebird), but I can't find any manuals online. I'll hook it up soon and mess with it, but does anyone have any more information on how it works?

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. You just press the "Program Button" to put it in programming mode, hold the button (or hat direction) you want to program, and then press the keyboard button to bind to it. Although I haven't figured out how to restore a "joystick button" to the assignment if I accidentally assign one of the primary four to a keyboard command. At least it has two pages of mappings so I my mistake isn't present on both 😉.

I'm shocked, that is the first clip-on Socket 4 cooler I have ever seen.

Well after nearly 7 days of waiting, it finally arrived and I can get some good pictures of it.

nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra PCI-Express, 512MB version, BFG Overclocked Edition.

Compared to the first one I bought this one is practically spotless inside and almost looks unused at all.

Thanks! But I was going to use a multi I/O for COM/LPT anyhow 😎 Any other caveats? Apart from the fact that it doesn't use a coin battery for CMOS (and I don't have any soldering skills at all).

@jheronimus; Funny, that's what I did.

Nothing too serious so far as I remember. All I can think of is if it keeps locking up in boot, disable LBA mode for the hard drives. There was some other BIOS bug that I can't remember, possibly related to PnP or the LPT port, I honestly don't remember. Oh, on that note, the BIOS sucks anyway, you can't really change very much in there. Don't be surprised if your hard drive ends up corrupted somewhere down the line if you regularly use floppies/CD-ROMs, because some moron decided to connect the RZ1000 PCI IDE controller interrupt to the floppy controller and this problem is legendary on several boards, if you use Windows 95 this is silently patched, though it's also possible you'll be lucky and the problem will never manifest under MS-DOS anyway. The secondary IDE channel is immune to this bug but uses the slower ISA BUS.

The only other things I can think of are that mine ran hotter than hell for some reason, much hotter than the Abit PS5 does with pretty much the same hardware. Also there's an extra power connector, this is for 3.3V PCI, ignore it because you more than likely won't ever need it for anything and the board doesn't require it be connected.

6800 ultra is one of the last / fastest video cards for native windows 98 SE support. And this.. is the only 512MB card with good win98se support. I'll have to write an entry into the drivers for it to get em loaded but that's trivial. This will be my "Key" to taking win98se in to a PCI-Express system (hopefully) with full, proper, native support that will work correctly. The next step is finding a pcie motherboard that's Win98 capable. I've found a list of some but it's a short list of about 10 models. I'll work on more of that next year, at least I have this card.. which is actually quite rare today.

EDIT: Also It's pretty much the fastest card from nvidia's 6800 Line-up. I tend to collect exotic cards from the top of their family line. I don't know why but I just like em. Some folks collect obscure hard drives, I collect almost obscure video cards.

This will all be sort of a extended time project. I'll probably tackle that some time next year. But these 512-PCIE-6800-Ultra cards are actually quite rare to find these days today and I wanted to at least grab this one.. at least I have it. I can always find a board later, they're more likely to be more common.

Asus AX800 800XT 256mb AGP Card and a Aopen AW724 Sound Card

2x512mb Geil PC3500 DDR sticks for my NF2 XP3000+ machine and a Asus P5A Motherboard With a K6-2 500. Looking forward to doing a build around this, Have a Voodoo 3000 AGP and will probably buy one of those Audician 32 Yamaha Sound Cards. Was thinking of changing the CPU to a 2+ or III+. Any Recommendations?

Got this baby after many years of searching... from a fellow Vogoner 😁

Already added FPU and 4x1MB SIMMs. It's pretty fast for 20MHz but will try to change the oscillator for a faster one (will solder a socket). I hope to get near 25MHz as I certainly won't (can't) change the cpu 😒 From my experience with other Harris-20, they at least do good 23 if not full 25MHz 😎

I looks like you have a P5A rev. 1.06. 1.05 and higher tend to not play well with the II+/III+ series processors. See: http://compatlist.k6plus.com/

Cool. If that P5A is a stable one of them, then you got a really good board.

Ahh that's unfortunate. Thankfully the board and chip was not very expensive. Has anyone had any success with the II+/III+ or they just don't work?

Look at the chipset, if it ends with a 'G'. Everything is fine.

Looking ato what I assume is the northbridge (one closest to the cpu) it does indeed end with a 'G'
