It's going to take some time to straighten all these pins with a mechanical pencil, hopefully the thing will still work! Fortunately in my experience 486 pins have always been pretty forgiving when it comes to straightening.

Great find... it's like the 386 with a slightly modern look.

Have fun with the EISA bus... great for i/o data transfer speeds. There are also a few graphics cards floating around for it too, i've found and tested a few of them below if your interested: -

I don't know if I'll use those EISA slots because this is a pentium and it has two PCI ports (one is taken by the video card). However if I find something cool for the EISA slot, unless I find another machine with EISA slots, this will definitely go in there ^^ (I have 0 EISA cards atm)

I even bought a NOS drive trying to fix mine - I've tried everything under the sun and that model drive is just the most unreliable thing you ever saw. Everything has to be calibrated (including the belt length, tension, and pliability) to within a smaller resolution than my precision screwdriver is capable of exacting.

Maybe you'd be better off trying to replace it with some other drive the same size that wasn't designed by an orangutan.

Yeah, the one in my T4600 is also bad, sadly. Not sure if there are any other drives that would work in it! I'd bypass it and use a PCMCIA one (the one from my Libretto, where I'm guessing there's probably a 3.1 or DOS driver for it somewhere)... but Windows 3.1's Card Services are disabled for some reason, and I'm not sure how I can re-enable them without potentially needing a floppy drive.

I got an envelope with stuff I won on the Swedish Ebay clone Tradera.

In the envelope I found this, awesome packaging skills! For those who wonder it used to be bread in the small plastic bag, traces of it can still be seen.

Went to buy a pentium 200mhz and after asking for more I got my self a working 486 also, just needs a clean on the outside.

Picked up a Dell AT101W (Black) mechanical keyboard at a local thrift store yesterday. Originally I was a bit worried, because most of the keys didn't register properly at first. Then after I mashed them a bunch and used the keyboard, they started behaving again. I guess there was dust to be worked out of the microswitches or something?

Added even more boards to my Asus collection. This time a txp4x and a tx97-xe (both 430tx atx boards). Also scored another p5a-b rev. 1.04.

Also added: 2x geforce2 gts, geforce1 ddr, 3x p3-s 1400mhz tualatin cpu, ide controller ata66 pci card.

Well, I always use the Windows 3.1 terminal and a null modem cable to transfer files since it's pretty much the only option barring removing the hard drive and connecting it to an external cable 🤣

Picked up a Tandy 1000 TL/2 on Ebay for what I felt was a pretty good price, $125.

CM-11 monitor, keyboard, mouse, keyboard cover, monitor cover, DMP-133, original documentation and a few third-party books.

Seems to work with the exception of the TL hard disk.

Ironically, the monitor cover adhered to the top of the CM-11 and rather damaged it.

Now I need to figure out how to re-ink this DMP-133 ribbon and pick up some pin-feed printer paper...

Yeah, i'm pretty lucky i found all these boards. Got 11 ss7 boards now, 7 are Asus p5a and p5a-b's. 😀

Also had a pci card in the lot, didn't know what it was but it was pci and had vga/tv-out/dvi so i got it. You just don't see these more modern pci cards that often.

After testing it turns out it is a kyro II 64mb pci. Nice little card and works fine. Maybe i will test this in my 486 and see how that goes 🤣

I think you got a good deal. I had one of these when I was a kid and would love to find one like that. Just a word of advice, don't try to clean any gunk of any kind with Acetone. I made that mistake on my Apple IIGS Woz edition and the Acetone ate into the plastic. Not saying you would do something like that, but just a friendly warning. Goo begone works great for plasticky resins and stickers. Good luck!

What's with all the AT101's showing up lately? I've had mine since Jan 2016 but like 3 members here have gotten one in the last 2 weeks. The last guy said it "reminded him of a model M".

No way those can be anywhere near a model Ms quality though right?
