Just got my first Gravis Ultrasound!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gravis-Ultrasound-PN … 497.m4902.l9144

Pretty excited about it, would like to know some specific games where it totally blew away the SB. Is it mostly for the tracker scene?

Modul based games... epic pinball, etc. But it shines at the demoscene, for games mostly useless.

One must fall 2097 is a great game to showcase what a GUS can do. There is a demo in the software package for the cards if I recacll correctly.

Most games by Epic MegaGames make great use of that card, and then yeah most games having mod music will probably work great on the card

Jazz Jackrabbit and Zone66 are two of my favs! Epic Pinball as mentioned above is also pretty... Epic. 😎

On a side note, the DOOM games can sound pretty awesome when you start playing with the various patches/drum kits. Power Drums make them sound sooooo much better imo.

I was looking around for a Matrox G200 PCI card for my K6-2, and I found this:

What am I looking at here? Is this worth buying?

G200 MMS Quad which allows you to run quad monitors, using LFH60 to dual VGA or DVI cable (I've got one with a single cable for dual-head display). http://www.vgamuseum.info/index.php/news/item … matrox-g200-mms

Good for desktop duties, was used to drive the giant IBM T220 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_T220/T221_LCD_monitors).

Edit looks like it's on par with the more mainstream Millennium and Mystique, so could be OK for gaming. I should give mine a run.

I can't even begin imagining what it might have cost.. And there are so many things I envy in that lot..

Actually it cost much less than the ebay-range of prices. Yet not absolutely cheap, of course.

@hard1k: That's quite a load 😁 Did you buy the audio stuff "only", or all in the picture (3dfx cards etc.)?

Everything... 😁
