The battery will be removed and I'll scrub it thoroughly with vinegar for sure, but I doubt any traces have been eaten away completely..

Nice riser. I'm sure you can find a sound card bracket that will fit the breakout board.

Speaking of risers.. The guy that sold me the 386 seems to have a Socket 7 motherboard and riser as well. Not sure what computer this one is from, and I sure don't have a horizontal AT/ATX case to house this in so I turned it down but is there anything special about this? Anyone know what it's from?

It is from a digital venturis/Celebris FX-2 system

I have one here. Quite a small pentium system.

Ahh thanks, not something I would ever have use for without the case..

Not bad!

Which one? It's been a long time since I've seen anything like that locally in a thrift shop...

Rataplan, many times I go there for nothing but this time I was lucky.

That's a thing of beauty. <3

Were you lucky to get 1mb simms? If so, hold onto them, they are not common.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Which Rataplan? If you got this from Generatorstraat, I was unlucky and you were lucky as it wasn't there the day before yesterday 😉

On topic- in the mail today (no pic myself as 100% same as seller pic):
s-l1600.jpg

My EISA build is starting to take shape. Needed this as even though my EISA 486 has VLB, there is something very, very wrong with the VLB portion of the slot - anything I stick in there either shorts out the PSU or starts smoking 😳
It's not going to win any performance prizes, but then neither is EISA itself 😉

Still need to find an EISA 10/100MbE NIC though - they certainly exist, but usually only on other side of the world with shipping twice the price of the card. But with patience I will find one.

No VLB slots?! The one in the pictures clearly had them, so this'll be interesting to sort out.

Recieved the Amiga500 512k Chipmem upgrade kit, that I put together from various sellers. And then I bought the newest version of AmigaOS complete with one Kickrom chip and 6 floppy disks. (Version 3.1.4) Actually funny that version 3.1.4 is newer and better than 3.9. Yet it is a larger update and have more bug fixes, than 3.9 had over 3.5. AmigaOS 3.9 is from 2000 and 3.1.4 is from 2018. Confused? 😁

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....

Dionb, yes at generatorstraat.

Lucky bugger then 😉

As long as you guys stay out of my area and fight it out over there it's fine 🤣

So far this year I've already bought several things at one thrift store in my area. Nothing really special, all parts and accessories.

I go once in a while thrift store shopping, I drive to a couple stores in 1-2 days and buy everything old hardware related that's worth getting. Usually I find DA-15 plug type joysticks, beige optical drives, beige keyboards, beige mice or memory modules. I can't remember having found ISA sound cards recently, but have found AGP graphics cards last year. Usually it's a waste of time and gas, but sometimes I find something that actually compensates for (most of the) lost time and gas 😊 The reality is that the thrill of finding something nice is actually worth more than the time and gas spent, so that's why I still do it. It's like a cheap casino 😊

Uh... yeah... not cool. Mine came in mint working condition from the same seller. Definitely hope you get that cleared up with them. At least they still have more in their inventory according to the Ebay listing.

Actually, I did have one minor issue with the board I got. It would not post at first due to the VRM cap near the CPU socket being knocked loose somehow, but all that needed was a quick solder job.

Mine also has no VLB slots. And no BIOS chip.

A little something came in the mail today, for 3 bucks.. I don't really need more of these (I actually sold off 3 of them last year because I had too many) but I tend to buy them impulsively when I find them for cheap..
