Found 2 cases on Ebay this morning, and they're within 20 miles of my house so I selected the local pickup option to save ridiculous shipping. I think this is the first time this has happened haha. About $35 each.

<snip>

The display on that first case looks interesting! If it's complete you could do some cool stuff with it! https://www.crystalfontz.com/product/cfa634tm … ter-module-20x4

Yea I hope it works. I have a few Crystalfontz displays in other computers already. I love them. This computer is probably going to house my dual 1GHz Pentium III system. I have a NewQ Gold that I'm going to put in the front bays as well.

Got myself a nice "little" AT&T 3B2/310 terminal in excellent condition. It's big and heavy, barely any plastic, love it!

What a neat little system. Do you mind taking a shot of the back? I am sure you have seen the page, but this guy has a ton of info on it:

Terminal?
Looks more like a workstation...

Sure, here you go.
Thanks for the info, it was an impulse buy because there wasn't much interest for it so I sniped it. I just couldn't resist a computer that was made when I was born. 😀

Cool, I have never seen Crystalfontz before, but I used to sell NewQ Golds back in the day. They were never really popular here and I'd love to find one. They're so 2000-ish.

Does anyone know anything about this computer case ?
It reads “techmedia”
It looks like a SS7 or 1st gen Pentium case but I am going to use it for my Ultimate 486 build.

If I did that it would be a system from the NASA Gemini project 🤣

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

I had a very similar, almost identical tower case with a front door for my first PC (486 DX33 in 1993). The only difference with mine was that the 5.25" and 3.5" drive bays were reversed in terms of location.

So, I went to pick up a few cabinets the other day... The gentleman I bought them from used to have a company for marine electronics development and production but went bankrupt like two years ago. He had already sold most of the production tools and parts and was now selling what was left over - office furniture and things like that.
When we entered the building, he told me that if I wanted any of the other stuff, I could have it too... well, yes, I did want some of the other stuff!
In the end I left not only with my two cabinets, but with a bunch of retro hardware as well:

1. Three complete systems:
a) Compaq Deskpro EN, Pentium III 933, 256MB, 10GB HDD, excellent overall condition, just slightly yellowed front panel. Boots up to Win2k Prof.

b) Videoseven Tower with Pentium III 450 on an Epox EP-BA3 (440BX chipset, caps look like new), Rage 128, etc. etc., boots up to Win XP SP3

c) AT Desktop case with "Privileg" label (a brand used by German mailorder pioneer Quelle) which used to house a 286, now with a Gigabyte GA-6BA, Pentium II 350, Tseng ET6000, boots up to Win 98 SE. Not yellowed at all, complete with a 5,25" disk drive.

2. An AOpen MX3L MicroATX board (440LX chipset) with Celeron 400 MHz CPU and 256MB of RAM, working and in good condition
3. An AT keyboard by Cherry
4. A bunch of PCI and ISA cards, the more interesting ones being:
a) An ISA Soundcard by Expertcolor with Yamaha YMF719E-S chipset

d) A PCI SCSI Controller by Adaptec, AVA-2904
5. A box full of SIMMs
6. Two Seagate HDDs from the late 90s

Since all of this stuff would have ended up in the dumpster anyway, the guy gave it to me for FREE. 😄
The Videoseven system will probably replace my existing Slot 1 440BX machine because the tower is of excellent build quality (as opposed to the one I already have) and I have a weak spot for Epox boards.
The Compaq machine is awesome because it is in nearly original state, but I don't have real use for it...
The 286 case is built like a tank, heavy steel everywhere, absolutely great. Might try to find a 286 or 386 board for it, but this era has never been my top priority, so I might as well sell it. But the current configuration with a Slot 1 board an P2-350 is not particularly useful for me and somehow feels wrong for this case...

Yesterday I made another great deal with some guy who had many AGP and PCI expansion cards on eBay Classifieds for 1€ per piece, regardless of what it was. More on that later... 😉

If someone would 3D-Print these, it would make a lot of people out there very happy.

Do you have a printer to print them for yourself? I'd forgotten about it, but I did design up a replacement bezel to fit the external drives so they can go in a regular case. They turned out pretty well

Otherwise I could print up a few to sell since I've got both the beige filament and the transparent filament needed.
