AFAIK, the SGRAM version is about 3-4% faster than SDRAM one, but SDRAM overclocks way better.

Not all 3500's have TV-Tuner on them. I think that card is the "Compaq" version. I had one of them Compaq cards a coupe of years ago. The size and looks of the PCB gives it away. You can not tell by the heatsink alone. Other cards such as the Compaq TNT2-Ultra have the same, just in black. And yes. I have two of those TNT2's in my collection.

It's a Voodoo 3 3000, there's no need to even discuss that. That's just exactly how a 3000 PCI looks.

The 3500 only retailed as a "TV"-variant. And no, overclocking a 3000 to 183 MHz does not make it a 3500.

Is it an early 486 board? None of my 486 boards have a DIP 14 oscillator, but my 386 and 286 boards do.

You know you don't need to swap CPUs either, right? Just leave the SX20 in place and swap the crystals to underclock it.

Please post your results, I'd be interested to know how a 486SX16 performs!

Even better.... I just googled the Compaq edition. And found this website. However.... I was kind of wrong, the card showed here that we are talking about. Just looks a bit like the Compaq. The Compaq have TV-Out as well. (or at least S-Video, and not TV as such, because S-Video are to be found on monitors too) I just said that it looks like the Compaq card. I have actually not seen a Compaq card the last 2 or 3 years, as I sold it to buy Amiga stuff, and I have so many other great cards. Plus, I really did only use my Orchid Voodoo1 of all my Voodoo cards.

As you can see.... Clearly no TV-Tuner and it has old school 15-Pin VGA out. So. Basically, not all 3500's have TV-Out.

Interesting. 52 GBP = 65 USD. Seems that our sense of upper-limits are about the same.

got this nice little industrial board to play around with :3
interface galore, PCIe, PCI, ISA, floppy, IDE, CF and sata.

most important of all it has the W83629 chip for bus mastering, I wonder if I will get sound cards to work with this one or not x3
unfortunately the GME965 does not have official Win98 support, but the board does fully support DOS 6.22

I got this killer deal off eBay in the mail today and it actually works! Has Windows 2000 on it, which is kind of a lot to ask for with only 96MB of RAM (I generally throw in at least 256 for Win2K myself) but hey, it does work.

Nice laptop. I have the 4000CDT and it is great for early window95 games and the soundcard works well in DOS too.

They were produced by 3DfX, to be used in Compaq machines. Yet as far as I remember, they never actually made it into any Compaq product or something like that. I guess it was just one of those deals that fell to the floor. That is why they are called the Compaq model.

That in the photo is the V3 3000 PCI. The V3 3500 from Compaq is AGP only and has the VGA connector instead of that proprietary output that requires a specific cable.
I had the one from Compaq but decided to sell it. Yes it was faster but nothing to make a huge difference in games.
There is actually a V3 3500 with 5ns Ram clocked to 200mhz but that one was a special edition made for Falcon Northwest computers. Good luck finding that one...

I currently have a V3 3000 modified with 5ns rams and it can be overclocked to 183mhz but I'm not going to risk it.
I also had a V3 3000 but sold under the Asus brand. The model number was ASUS AGP-V3300. I sold it last month but made a backup of the bios, but I think it runs at stock speeds anyway.

This is a ISA card with a Socket 499 Alpha CPU on it. First I assumed this is a complete SBC, but its seems to lack the RAM. So most likely this is totally useless without the remaining system...

This is a Microsoft Turbo card for a XT with a 8086/8087on it. It is reported that the speed is doubled. Some parts are missing but easy to replace, I hope it will be a nice toy to play with...

Last one was a very good deal. I can see 2 cards with a grey connector I have never seen before. This seems to be for Macintosh (Nubus). CPU cards?
The long ISA card seems to be a SBC? Maybe a 386? Looks interesting...

Yes, NuBus. Both are graphics cards. The bottom one is most likely a high-res monochrome card.

There's also a little white sticker on one of the ICs that says "COMPAQ" on it. That's the easiest way to tell. A number of years ago, an eBay seller was blowing these out new for something like $15 apiece.
