Ok... so here is what all the "secrecy" was about. Was not cheap at all .. in fact I may be insane for paying as much as I did but I just had to get it for posterity's sake and pretty sure I would never see it pop up again and we need the files on those disks as a community since most of them were nowhere to be found.
Behold - The Developer Kit for Sound Blaster Series (original version):

Sorry for all the flak I gave ya earlier, I guess that "secrecy" was justified.
Either way that's a pretty awesome discovery, I didn't know that they had a dev. kit!
