Just won this little gem on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261513930637

An ATI X850 XT Platinum Edition. Basically it was the last of the great (true)AGP cards made. I wanted one of these SO BADLY when they were new. I had a 9600se at the time that was on its last legs, I had to wait a long time before I could afford a new card and I ended up getting a 7800gs.

I don't NEED it, but for the price, I couldn't go wrong.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Nice. I'm looking for a pair of x850s for some early crossfire action, but the need for a master and slave card is a pain.

OH I hate those as much as I do hate mail 😵

Scored a few nice gems on amazon yesterday that were a lot cheaper than on eBay. Found a V1 for $10 and change 😲

It's not all bad, AGP Radeon HD4650 512Mb is working well, Also AGP Quadro FX 6800, Radeon 9800 Pro, 9800 XL, 2 GF4 Ti 4400's, 2 3DFX Voodoo 3 3000's, PCI Matrox G450 32mb, PCI 5200 256mb. AGP Rage 128 ultra, AGP 5900XL.
This is just what i have tested so far, not far in, will take a good few evenings to get through this little lot!

Not bad at all indeed. 😳

I also spy what looks like an AIW Radeon AGP, at least one GeForce 6800 (next to the AIW's breakout cable) and 7900GS or GT (the BFG card), and a GF 8/9 card (the blue one with the black sink and SLI connector - I'd guess 9500GT but could be wrong).

Cards I have questions about 🤣:

- What's the red AGP Quadro? FX 4000?

- The red PCIe card to the right of the 9800XL and above the GF7, what is that?

- What's the clocks/config like on the 5900XL? (I've never seen an XL before)

- What happened to the XFX PCI card's I/O bracket? 😦

Again, very nice find, and hopefully all of them (or at least the good ones) work! 😎

Ordered this from eBay a while ago. Not quite sure what I will be doing with it, but should be nice to have. It was quite cheap.

I've got a 128 MB Radeon 9550 that I used in my now-dead Pentium 4 tower - it wasn't exactly a powerhouse, and had a very whiny small fan. Still, could be worse; could be a 9550 SE, with a nerfed databus, or the FX5200, which was just pathetic.

It looks like my Armada M700 has now decided to totally die - the built-in memory seems to have conked out, and it seems to be allergic to its DVD drive. Not sure if I'll part it out, or simply hold on to it and wait for a decent priced motherboard that isn't being sold by a crooked seller (there's one for a tenner, but that seller is dodgy)... ah well.

EDIT: The good news is that having thrown the hard drive straight into the Latitude C600, that system is definitely good. Well, mostly good. The graphical issues shown in Linux are gone, and it turns out that it has a 1400x1050 screen (albeit one with a few chips in, something I will probably try to fix). However, I'm pretty sure the rechargeable CMOS battery isn't working any more, and one thing that is definitely odd is the fact that the system is making a chirping/buzzing sound whilst Windows is running. It's not the modem/ethernet card, it's not the charging circuit or charger (noise occurs with 1 battery, 2 battery, running off battery power or running off pure AC with no batteries fitted), and it's not the hard drive - it sounds like it may be coming from the fan, but the fan spins up fine. It also doesn't appear to occur until the system is fully booted. Any ideas? You can hear the sound in this video.

Heh, I've just found what might be part of the problem with my Atari STFm; there are a pair of blue wires that are supposed to connect to the Yamaha YM2149F chip (which has two missing legs - which are what the wires are used in place of) - and guess what? One of those solder joints has failed, and after nudging it with my finger, the wire has come off the chip. I wonder if that could have caused the inability for the system to boot up?
