maybe i am a little bit Sound blaster fanatics so here the is my latest RMAA benchmark. I choose MME and half dulplex function.

Testing device AWE64 CT4380 Wave Out [220]
Sampling mode 16-bit, 44 kHz
Interface MME
Testing chain External loopback (line-out - line-in)
RMAA Version 6.0.6

20 Hz - 20 kHz filter ON
Normalize amplitude ON
Level change -0.5 dB / -0.7 dB
Mono mode OFF
Calibration singal, Hz 1000
Polarity correct/correct

Summary
Frequency response (from 40 Hz to 15 kHz), dB +0.10, -0.56 Good
Noise level, dB (A) -83.4 Good

Very interesting. Honestly, those results are better than I would expect. SB16 and the AWE cards are really the worst sound outputs I've heard. Especially compared to the Soundscape cards, SBLive! and Vortex cards I have. 😀

you need to dig up a AWE64 Gold and test it. It supposedly uses a better DAC and better signal circuitry in general than a regular AWE64.

And I was wondering what you run the output to? Are you just doing loopback on the same card? Or using some other card as the receiver?

i use audigy2zs and i leave it on mme mode. if i use x-fi elite pro the input signal too "low" i donno why. then i wrap the power and loopback wire with aluminium foil. btw i don't have awe64 gold one.
