Two socket 3 boards made the same year by Asus...the look quite the same but still they are so different
The AP4 only has onboard IDE so you have to use a seperate I/O controller for floppy and com ports (what were they thinking of??!!)
You also set the PCI resources with jumpers (the rowe to the right of the PCI slots) a very jurassic PCI solution...guess they were happy just to have PCI slots on the board.
The PCI performance is very bad on this board....
Not really sure if the SP3 board was the successor of the AP4....the SP3 board is more mature and has better performance.
My SP3 board on the pic. is just rev 1.2...has no flashrom BIOS chip, early SIS chipset so there's no BIOS updates for it
