Anyone tried this card in DOS? I know it's an overkill to use it for DOS games, but maybe someone has experience with it and would like to share it with us 😀 ? When I got my first DB60XG board I heard from someone that it doesn't work in pure DOS...might work in a dosbox thoygh

no , the SW1000XG does not work in DOS... it is not a simple MPU401 midi device, and even if it work , it would not offer much to DOS games... it's power lies on the numerous fx processors it has to make MIDI sound awesome... but it works in XG mode for this thus plain midi sound "boring" . I see the seller also gives the DSP factory card, that adds even more fx processors...
so in conclusion: useless in DOS , and unless you are a mucisian it is useless and as a MIDI card in windows... unless you want an expensive card to play midi 🤣
