Yeah, there's no 2.1ghz limit in 98SE, only Win95, and even that is fixable with an unofficial patch.

I can't remember if I've ever tried it or not, but as far as I know, the Intel 9-series chipsets will work OK in 98SE, it's just that you might run into problems with some of the integrated stuff... IGP, network controller, etc.
