geforce 4 series, agp. win98. athlon 1000 cpu.
in dos 7, pcpbench gives me a score of 55, but if i run pcpbench within win98, i get a score of 132.

Try using UNIVBE in DOS to enable the MTRRs and Linear Framebuffer options.

Thanks, I'll try this asap. (Assuming UNIVBE works, is it likely that I'll get the same higher value - that is to say, using UNIVBE in dos will give me a score of 132? If so, then I'll be more than happy with that.)
With any luck it should make an improvement. As we discussed in another thread Windows will enable these optimizations by default.
