Some of my 486 (PCI) mobos don't accept EDO RAM. For these particular boards, would fast page memory work?

I notice a seller has got some fast page memory (tin) for sale on ebay -

What do you reckon? Worth a try?

If you don't mind spending 10 GBP for a pair, then sure, try and report us, whether it works 😀. I think it's probably chipset dependent, whether the MB supports EDO or not. I tried to find datasheets for some 486 chipsets, but without any success (for example google can't find any reference to the 420xx chipset line on Intel website, UMC doesn't have a public support site at all, SiS too and OPTis website is merely a placeholder). Personally I wanted to check cache support of various chipsets (i've found only http://dch-faq.de/kap02.html) - how can I check empirically how much memory is cacheable?
