Hmm, I threw away such a case a few years ago. Same format just older, 4-color CGA LC-Display (I kept that one). It had a tandy sticker on it. So not homemade.

Uhm...somewhat a thread hijack, but would that machine be related to the PC that Dade uses in the movie Hackers?
I've been searching for the exact model used in the movie but have been unable to find any info on it whatsoever. If anyone can confirm that the one from the movie is this same sort of network appliance type machine, it would be a real step in the right direction for me.
