I'm pretty sure that is correct but you had to go into the Optical Drive properties and change the default analog output to digital to properly rip audio CD's or game discs with Hybrid formats, i.e., DATA + AUDIO tracks 😉

The sound output is already set to digital by default when using SATA optical drives with Windows XP, Vista and 7.
I only use SATA drives with my new systems (Win XP, Vista and 7) and stick with IDE drives + audio cable for my oldies running Dos/Win95 and Win98 😀

i have some xp machines with 1ghz celerys and 512 mb ram and ide drives they work well. i just installed that plug anyway it couldn't hurt 😀
