I just got one of these boards: http://www.qdigrp.com/qdisite/eng/Products/Advance10t.htm
Tualatin support out of the box, one ISA slot...supports up to 1.5 gig RAM
All a man needs 😁

What do you guys think...crap board or a winner?

When I started messing about with retro stuff for the first time (last year), that was my first board. It's very fast. At the time, I had no idea about "speed problems" with some old DOS games, and so I moved on to slower boards...

Wouldn't your KT7A Athlon-based mobo be faster than this board? Actually, it would be really nice to see a Speedsys comparison! 😀

I don't have any experience with the VIA chipsets of that era. Do you have a proc for it yet? Run speedsys when you get a chance so we can all OOhh and Aahhh.

Yeah it's faster but my KT7A board has issues.....BSOD's and a tendency to unexpectendly quit games by itself.

Comes with a 1.3ghz cpu

I'm not after any OOhh and Aahhh (arghh's) I just want a board that cn boot into pure dows with legacy hw support and can run some windows games from the late 90's and early 2000's 😀

how much you pay i possibly wanna get one and was wondering if 40$ to 50$ sounds right?

I don't think you should pay more than $15-20

I got mine for around $8-9 but here in Sweden old PC parts are treated or worthless piece of junk if it doesn't say "Amiga", "Apple" etc on it 😜

The VIA Apollo 133T chipset is not as fast as Intel's 815ep, but on the other hand it can support a lot more RAM. (815ep can only support 512 MB). To have one ISA slot is also very nice, although the southbridge is said to be a bit buggy (VIA 686B bug).

Unfortunately the page doesn't say if the Tualatin PIII-S is supported by the board. I recall that it's not always safe to put this CPU into a motherboard that doesn't support it (not even if it supports other Tualatin CPUs)

Interesting. Old PC's in sweden are second-class citizens next to Apple's and Amigas, eh?

I wonder why.

Yep...most of it is recycled also...the few parts that aren't recycled can be bought for virtually nothing but it's hard to find computers/parts prior to 1997-98

Actually found two 😉

The one I bought on Ebay cost me $45...no steal but I don't mind since I could have sacrificed an arm for getting

Regarding the mobo...the stupid people at the DHL service point here have let someone else pick up the package so it's bye-bye to that mobo....they told me to get back tomorrow to hear the final solution..if their computer systems really tells the truth
You're suppose to show your ID to be able to get your DHL box/letter so can't understand how it happened

Incompetent bastards.

There's a "service point" for you.

I went to one once and it scared the shit out of me. I have no reason now to not go to a real postoffice.

This is not a QEMM error.

There's no postal offices in Sweden since some years back...small grocery shops, gas stations etc are running the postal services except delivering mail
Were I live DHL and the postal services are taken care of by a video rental shop 😵
The people in that video rental shop don't have time to learn anything before they quit

Heh. 'round here we have about 3 major post offices and some smaller "satellite" ones too. And there are occasionally little ones like yours inside stores. In fact there's one in a gas station down the street and there was one in a video rental place nearby a few years back! 😀

from my experience , DHL is the worst of services... Thank god Greek post office uses either it's resources or EMS for express worldwide shipping... EMS owns all 😀

You know, every now and then I get discouraged by the state of affairs in the US. But when I hear something like this... I thank God I live I here, faults and all. No reliable postal service?! Sheesh.

I don't think there are any serious postal issues in the UK - Royal Mail have the odd strike now and then because they are greedy and want more money 😒

We also have Parcel Force (part of Royal Mail), City Link, DPD, UPS, FedEx and DHL... and possibly more so there is plenty to choose from, i also agree that DHL are quite bad and have no respect for your packages.
