You know why this is weird?

Even if someone is given the wrong package and only sees it at home, why would they keep it? It is a bloody old motherboard!

Also if they can see in their system it was given to someone else, did they enter the personal information of this other person with it? They should have though, because that is protocol.

Maybe some employee there stole it. If it came from the US and was priority mail or higher the contents were probably there clearly on the box.

I would pay a visit to the policestation if I were you.

This is not a QEMM error.

Amigaz, I doubt that there are no postal offices in Sweden, but if it is true what you are saying, then the merger between Post Danmark and the Swedish post service does not enhance the postal service over there.

Trust me...there are none 😉

To find one you'll have to invent a time machine and go back in time circa 3-4 years
You even have to go to the bank now to put in cash on your account...the use to run service on the postal offices too...which lived on a bit as "Svensk Kassaservice" but those offices are gone too.....we're back on square one again 😜

Ummm? I give up. "Bikini Team"?

Sorry. I never was much of a beer commercial watcher! (That's what the remote has that MUTE button on it for).

Damn , you are screwed . Heck the reason why I do not trust Post Danmark is because of their monopolization of the entire post service. And that is unfair with both prices and a load of other bollocks. So when I send packages around the world I always send as registered packages and also quite a few postmen has been caught with their "hands in the cookie jar" aka. they have been caught stealing, so you better be prepared with the next packages you either send or receive that they have to have some kind of registration , so you can track it. Also when I send packages, then I refuse to send from my local post office, cause I do not trust them where I live.

I feel your pain. Last year I ordered a new in the box IBM model M clicky keyboard off Ebay. Someone intercepted the UPS driver claiming to be me. He even signed the receipt, though he spelled my name wrong. The UPS driver IDed the guy but the police weren’t all that interested in helping. I’m not a violent person but I finally was forced to go a little medieval to get my keyboard.

If you do get your motherboard let us know. I am running the Gigabyte version of that board and there’s not one page on the net that has 100% factual information on this chipset. I’ve found work arounds for the little quirks and would be happy to share.

I posted my fixes on the Via website and was banned for my efforts. (Such is life in the information age).

The mobo "magically" appeared at the DHL service point yesterday.
Tested it out with the PIII Tualatin Celeron that came with the board...works flawlessly...but it's a poor 1300/100/256k model...will replace it with a full blown 1400/133/512k model 😀
It looks to be a quality board..going to bench it against my Abit ST6 which has the Intel chipset

Did they call you they had it or what?

I w3nt down to them and asked for it and they just went and picked it up so I suspect it was there all along or was regged as "arrived" before it was really available...

Good news.

You probably already know this but after you install the Via chipset drivers install the PCI Latency Patch from this link.

http://www.georgebreese.com/net/software/

Is it really mandatory?

yeah it can really boost PCI performance. Some of the VIA boards are just horrible in that way. Enough to slow down even IDE controllers.

I remember one time I was working on a VIA Apollo Pro sys. P3 or whatever it was. I put a SBLive in it and it literally would not put out any clear sound until I installed that PCI Latency Patch. The BIOS was just garbage and had PCI set up horribly wrong apparently. That's what this patch does. It reconfigures chipset registers to make things work better.
