I got this Matrox card from...you'll never guess where, and it won't POST. The card came complete with a Marvel box and a special chunky video cable, but I skipped all of that stuff, and simply plugged in a standard VGA video cable in to the VGA port. On a socket 7 board, the power stays on for about 30 secs then powers off. On a slot 1 board, the power remains on, and I manually switch off power (when I've had enough of looking at a blank screen.)

Visually, the card looks in great shape. I've cleaned the PCI contacts. Any ideas please people? 😀
