an actual GeForce4Ti4800 lately? I've seen a few Ti4800 SE's but haven't seen a full speed Ti4800 in a long time. Have they become rare or just being hoarded?

Hmmm, I haven't even thought about looking for one.
I'm not sure where you're located, but that might have something to do with it.
IIRC, the Ti4800 was never officially sold in the US. Or, rather, it was, but under the name "Ti4600 8x". And that's all it was... a regular Ti4600 with 8x AGP support tacked on. I've seen a bunch of those Ti4600 8x cards on eBay.

the older high end cards should be more uncommon then the midrange ones of the same generation, if only because 1:more of the midrange ones were sold and 2:high end graphics cards pushed the limits of the design further with more of them dying (often overheating).
