Being from 1991, It cannot possibly give soundblaster digitized sound with the chips available on this PCB.

No its a PC7286, and I couldn't get anything to work with digital sound even after setting the BLASTER environment variable. Unless it needs some sort of drivers loaded, but there were none on the hard disk and I can't find any on the web.

The card just looks way to simple to have digital sound - it looks way more like an Adlib than a Sound Blaster clone.

If you are squeamish, don't prod the beach rubble.

I have a 1992 magazine that is reviewing that Amstrad 5286, and it says it is an adlib compatible only. The db15 connector is apparently a game port only. That PC came bundled with a joystick as well as a mouse and two little speakers.

I wonder what the difference is between the PC7 and the PC5. Most of the IC's on the board are from about 1993 so its a pretty late model 286.

Maybe I should post some pictures of it whn I get home...
