BONUS

Bought a local lot from ebay of 10 unfinished PC's the other day for just £50. It also including a small bag containing mainly IDE leads and power leads but also 2 old CD-Writers in mint condition, one being a Plextor with a cool tray mechanism. Also a large box of bits that I don't think I can ever really use, such as front USB panels and power switches and a whole load of floppy cables and CD-Audio leads etc...

But the 10 PC's are, quite simply, AWESOME. There are some Time and Tiny machines, incomplete but with working mobos and CPU's. None had hard drives but most had DVD roms and RAM installed. But the Cases, ah ... the cases..... Theres some really well built ancient heavyweight cases. 2 desktops. A complete (minus HD) and working P3-866 Slot 1 machine in a very solid case! Also (probably what I'm most excited about) an AMD K6-2 500 with an amazing board (AGP2x, 5 PCI, 2 ISA, SD-Ram). The case is nice with a mesh like effect down one side and very wide. Can't wait to spray, clear coat and buff that one!! Whats next...

About 3 early P4 PC's but with nice cases from big manufacturers (no Dell though unfortenately). Two durons and a well weathered (this one looks like it's been outdoors for a while, which is a shame cos it was the one that attracted me to the auction) P3 system. No AGP when inspected though so ... no great loss. Just another nice case for a project!

The seller has another lot of 9 PC's including 3 Packard Bell machines which I think are very robust cases to work with, if a little weak on the motherboard feature front (from experience). But my girlfriend would kill me if I bought them as well. I have so little time as it is... But there looks to be a few desktop P1's in there.... and it's payday on Thursday.

As a side note, my first proper respray is nearing an end and I will try to post pic's ASAP. I did a large heavy Fujitsu Siemens case in gloss white, clear coat and buffing still to do but it looks very pearly. Left the front panels black, added a black DVD and a black Audigy control panel. Sprayed the inside midnight blue and am going to load it with ...
