Okay, I have an s3 trio64v+ and right above the vga monitor port is a little jack that looks like a audio out jack, and on the board it is labelled as "mpeg audio" Was this a sound card and video in one? I can post pics if you want.

Its the audio out port if you installed the mpeg1 decoder module - it would do hardware decoding of mpeg1 video and audio in the days when the CPU wasn't quite fast enough. We're probably talking vcd, not dvd.

That would be the audio connector for S3's Scenic Highway MPEG daugtercard.

In retrospect, the VideoCD rage was so pointless eh? I remember a guy showing me his new $2000 notebook with exciting PCMCIA Zoomed Video port so he could watch VCDs! Wow! 🤣 That was 1995.

I don't think so. I've got 4 S3 trio 64 cards I think, and one of them has also that audio out jack. However it's a good card for dos games, as it is very compatible.
