Wait, where is the 2nd episode? They don't talk about the Videocard or audio in that one. just that it is a Pentium II 300 with 128MB SDram!

I would say I feel old after that but back then technology went way too fast from 1995-2005.

$ 5000 Monitor 🤣

I like the pace of the shows back in the day. These days everything is just so fast. BAM, BAM, BAM and it takes you a while to process what you just saw.

🤣

Here's the third Ultimate Gaming machine episode. I'll post the second if I can find it.

10 years from now we'll be laughing at (and probably collecting) what we have now.

If you want funny and awkward TV about computer technology and trends, check out Computer Chronicles. Archive.org has episodes/segments from it, even a really funny one in 1999 where the host was advocating using Napster for free songs from the internet. ;P

The Computer Chronicles was one of the early pioneers of tech TV. I used to watch it on PBS every Sunday.

There are some fun episodes there. I like the ones with the reps showing off old 286-386 and Mac stuff. EMS boards and such. 😁

There's also one in there with a Xerox rep hosing Freon out of a can to show off a laser in a monster color laser printer. 😉

From what I can tell
$5000 that would be the Sony GDM-FW900 24 inch Wide Screen CRT Monitor
Addtronics ET7890A Case
Asus P2L97-S motherboard with onboard Adaptec AHA7880 Ultra Wide SCSI
Intel Pentium II 300Mhz Klamath
128MB SDRAM
Sound Blaster AWE64 Gold w/28MB
Seagate Cheetah ST34501N 10,000 RPM 4.1GB
Seagate Cheetah ST39103LC 10,000 RPM 9.1GB
Not sure kind of hard to tell but it look like a Pair of 3dfx card "Voodoo2" or Quantum3D Cards
Main Video Card look like an STB NVidia or S3, CL becuases of big fat video bios on top end very back of card being very few AGP card had thoses bios in that place.
Look like there also a Hardware Decoder so that has be Sigma Designs REALmagic Card or Creative Lab DXR2 oh and just so you no it not a Hollywood Plus it come out mid, late 1999.

10 years from now and Core i7's can be had by cycling from work to home and looking at the side of the road 😜

I found the show fun to watch actually, but I also wanted to know about the video cards. But definitely looked like a pair of V2's.

Wow, don't think I've seen a P4 thrown out. Vast majority of abandoned PC's in my area are Socket 7 Pentiums.

😲 😳 That used to be the case where I live a few years ago, but now stubborn old gits seem to be holding on to them...
