i necro this up... your rig seems to be running really fast, my k6-2+/550 with radeon7500 card can only score 56 and 54 fps in quake2 demo1 and demo2, despite my superpi being faster than yours, at 5:45.

looks ati cards do suck with socket7 cpus, while nvidia has huge agp compatibility problems with ali5 boards, at least in windows2000.

My guess would be that the faster scores are due to the usage of Glide as renderer.

Nice find and it is a good chip but the extra 128kb l2 does help at times. Last year I scored two K6-3 before ebay decided to screw me. One was more or less the original k6-3 that sometimes pops up for like $15 then two days later a k6-3e+ for $10 😀

I like the newer version that was a desolder from a seller in china, got it humming away at 550mhz with only 1.8v or so.

yeah i want a k6-3+ too but its getting very rare and difficult to find these days, and price is often unacceptable.
i have a k6-3/450 2.4v and its 10% faster than k6-2+ clock to clock

I will admit that I had waited a few years off and on till I got what I have now. Often I see a k6-3 going for the same price as a used q6600 and sometimes the same price as a i5 750/760 😒

my geforce2 mx200 pwned both this radeon7500 and ts' voodoo3, demo1 at 90fps and demo2 at 87!!!
and i am using standard version of quake2 rather than the 3dnow one, which hardly does any good(~5% faster but colours become ugly) unless you are using glide.
cpu is slow for both cards, so i guess its because ati cards using up too much fpu power.

update: just remembered that score was not run with best image quality, but with my tweaked setting. so the score with best quality should be 75 and 74 fps, but still a lot faster.

Where did you see that? I see more then a bunch of them starting from 1 eur on fleabay, and 19 eur for 'instant-buy'.

p.s. I would sell/trade mine for q6600/i5 any time of the day.

... well... then again... maybe not. 🙄

2005 up through till maybe 2010 it wasn't uncommon for bids on these k6-3+ models to end up beyond $100 after the final bid. I do remember seeing one that sold for $109 two years back.
