Does anyone know if the Intel 486 DX4 Overdrives came in both write-back and write-through editions, or just one? If just one, which one? If multiple, which s-specs for which cacheing scheme? SZ957 is probably the latest s-spec?

Not sure, but I have a DX4 Overdrive SZ959. How do I tell? I don't think I have a motherboard that will work on it.

If you could check, I'd appreciate it; I've not been able to find any conclusive answers. Ensure that your motherboard's BIOS is L1 write-back aware, and set it to write-back. Then run chkcpu16 in DOS to verify it is in write-back mode. You can also use CTCM.

I'm pretty sure they were all write through, and didn't support the 2X multiplier (if memory is correct)
