For myself i have enough options.. I have a SIIG controller over here so i could bigger drives then 512MB.( i also have VLB controllers with scsi on it) About space i think its wise to use a 700MB - 2GB drive of you want to install a lot software / games on it. I dont recommend to use a flash drive.. Because of write durance.. A good harddisk is a better option for it..

SCSI harddisks have a much higher MFBT time to fail (last longer) then using normal IDE drives.. So its recommend to go for the save option and going for a good brand scsi harddisk.. (its quicker too)

~ At least it can do black and white~

In my 'sperience, LVD and SE devices don't get along too good on the same chain. That may just be my anal retentive nature, but me thinks I've had that same problem in the past w/ Adaptec. I know in most of the server boards I've worked with from the 2940 era, you generally had an LVD bus and another separate SE bus.

It's actually the case on this 2940U2W.
I'll just separate them I guess.
But on the 2842A VLB, i have only 5µ0 pins, so I won't have the choice ...
