I have a weird issue with this PC: My Pentium MMX gaming rig

It sometimes hangs up while Windows 98SE starts. After the boot screen, I see autoexec.BAT starting things and then it hangs up. Happens about 20-30% of the time. Recently I discovered, that it never happens without SB Live! audio card.

I heared that EMU 10K has that weird PCI bus behavior, can this be an issue? How do you fix this?

Even though the SB Live! has some unusual PCI bus behaviour it shouldn't be a stability problem on a 430HX chipset, it probably just slows down the overall PCI transfer rate.
So it might be some other driver incompatibility. So the driver loading bootlog of Win98SE doesn't tell you anything?
