Hi folks,

does anyone know if the Intel AN430TX socket 7 board can handle 6x86L or 6x86MX CPUs?
The manual states that this board only handles Pentium and Pentium MMX CPUs.
Perhaps, somebody already experimented with some Cyrix or AMD CPU?!
I don't want to damage the CPU or board by trying without any advice...

It will not POST unless an intel chip is in it.

"It is due to the absence of the "Genuine Intel" string that the BIOS checks for in the CPU's
microcode. If it isn't there (and it wouldn't be, on your Cyrix-designed processor), the
board won't boot."
