I'm having trouble finding a socketed 386 motherboard on fleabay. All the results I'm turning up include CPUs (and most actually have permanently attached surface-mount CPUs).

I have a 386-16 + 387-16 pair sitting here, and I'd like to try them out.

Are there any decent makes/models that anyone can suggest?

Well, I don't think you will have much choices...
But the AMI Babyscreamer board seems to be ok.

But usually the difference is not so big, get a board with cache (64 kB usually) and socketed oscillator.
7 or 8 ISA slots, one is usually 8 bit. 8 SIMM sockets or memory card if not onboard. Take care that the BIOS/chipset accepts also 4 MB SIMMs.

Chipset preference according to the boards I have:
Ali , SiS, Eteq but Opti seems to be good as well. Generally late 386 boards tend to have a bit better performance. Late means 1993 / 1994...

Thanks for that.

The 386-16 is a double-sigma chip, which is why I'm kinda interested in getting it up and running.

Do those Baby Screamer boards show up often?

Do you just want to test and run some benchmarks?
I might be willing to lend you my 386.
I don't have any spare 386 boards unfortunately.
