Thinking about getting a laptop for dos gaming and some K6-2 based Toshiba Satellite laptops caught my eyes, but I don't know if they have the option to disable L1 and L2 in the BIOS, which would be decisive. Can someone confirm this for me? Thanks 😀

Also managed to get a picture of the particular model with a 475MHz unit, I worry about it being soldered because I might need to downgrade it in order to avoid RTE200

You don't need the option, as you can turn off L1 through a DOS command line utility 😀 I have to do this on one of my machines, it only has an L2 BIOS option. It's called ICACHE.EXE and I can upload it if needed.

I have tested it on a K6-2 and K6-2+ and also Pentium.

If there is no option for L2, then you can only turn off L1 (AFAIK I don't know about a software tool for disabling L2). In terms of slowing down this means you will end up with the speed equivalent of a 486DX to 486DX2 depending on FSB and factors such as RAM timing.
