Just got a legit SB16 in the mail (CT2230), and I'm trying to get it to work along side with my Gravis PnP in a 486 tower.

Both cards work fine independently. I installed the SB16 first, and everything worked great. Once I popped in the GUS PnP, things started to act a bit funky. I'm unable to complete the Gravis installation (where I test ports/addresses), and now Windows (3.11) only detects the GUS for it's Midi Mapper. However, the speaker is still hooked into the SB16, and it played the Windows *ding* just fine.

Anyone have any tips/steps into getting these two cards to work together?

Well, I have a similar system running with a CT1740+Waveblaster and GUS PnP. Since you didn't give much detail, some tips:
- be sure to run the EEPROM tool as the very first action to reduce the required resources of the GUS PnP (do a power cycle after change)
- Ignore what the installer reports or tests, write the resources in the ini file manually and test with a player
- remove all the non-needed drivers. SB16 and GUS PnP need no drivers, specifically do not load SBOS.
- first get the GUS PnP running and then try with the SB16, since the SB16 is just semi PnP with SET BLASTER=... and calling diagnose /S.
- get the card working in DOS first, before messing with windows.

By the way, Midi Mapper in WfW 3.11 can see only 1 card. So if you need to change the midi card - you must replace midimap.cfg and restart WfW.
By default this file is located in c:\sb16\drv and c:\ultrasnd\windows. Copy to c:\windows\system.

I'll give those steps a try later today.
Not too concerned about Windows using multiple cards. Just wanted to make sure something wasn't royally screwed. Since this machine is used primarily for gaming, I run everything out of DOS.

One thing I did forget to mention, I have a MT-32 hooked into the SoundBlaster 16. Will there be any problems with that, if I have two cards hooked up? I plan to disable all GUS emulation (not that it was ever worth using in the first place)

Both cards are in the system, fresh DOS install. Used EEPROM, and set the addresses.
Still not able to get anything from the Gravis PnP. Did the driver disk installation, and it copied all the files over to the HDD.
As a test, I tried running the port configuration setup, and it just sits there without loading the installer.

Also tried loading Interwave, but keep getting errors about the configuration file.

Does EEPROM write to a configuration file? Is so, where is it, and how do I go about loading it?

Set Blast however, works perfectly fine.
