I'm looking to install an E-MU SoundEngine GM module, but I can't seem to find any info for its power supply.

I've checked the manuals and the back of the module, and it just says 9V AC by the power input. I don't want to damage the unit; anyone have more info? Is it AC to AC, or is it a typo, and should be AC to DC? And at what current/ polarity? I'm in the UK, so will I need a 240-120V step down transformer?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: It's this module:

If I'm not mistaken, the AC adapter should be 9-volts AC. If the unit required DC, it would have been printed as such by the power plug on the back of the unit (and probably would have stated the DC polarity as well).

BTW, I don't know if this will help (as you already have the manuals), but you can find PDF versions of the manuals here -> https://sites.google.com/site/waveblastergm/install

According to the manual, the unit only draws a mere 25 watts... so most any low-power A/C adapter (with an output of 9-volts A/C) should work just fine 😀

Okay, that sounds reasonable. It seems that these AC to AC adapters are more difficult to acquire, and more expensive depending on current required. An adapter rated at 1A should suffice? Any existing owners with working adapters?

Yes, a 1 amp adapter should be more than sufficient 😀
