the linpack-based tests(linx and ibt) are known for stress testing with maximum heat generation, but they also give you a result of performace rating, so they can be used in fpu benchmarking.

heres a few results i got with linx:
k6-3+ 550: 0.129 mflops
k6-2 550: 0.120 mflops
k6-2 550 with onboard disabled: 0.104 mflops
k6-3+ @ 300: 0.072 mflops
p55c @ 300: 0.089 mflops
p55c @ 233: 0.067 mflops
6x86 133: crash at start(not a 100% pentium-compatible cpu)

anyone interested in this? i would also like to see the result of k5, winchip-c6 and via-c3. 😒

I used Roy Longbottom's optimised DOS Linpack for part of the Ultimate 486 Benchmark Comparison, but dropped it for the 686 benchmarks. Based on your numbers, I am assuming that you are using someone else's Linpack.

Plan your life wisely, you'll be dead before you know it.

i guess its released by intel. linx and ibt are just GUI for the core library.
