As I am partly ati and S3 fan , I collect them. I own a couple of old Ati 3d charger cards , and some have ati 3d rage 2 + DVD other have a rage 2c. But today on a local flea market i found a 3d charger with rage pro pci chip. It looks identical to a charger with a +dvd chip.
So the question is, didnt rage pro had a diffrent layout of boards because he had a much more modern memory bus?

The 3D RAGE PRO chip is available in AGP and PCI variants. The AGP 2X mode version supports the AGP 2X mode and a 230 MHz DAC and is packaged in a 256-pin BGA. The AGP 1X mode version is a pin-compatible 256 BGA for cost-sensitive markets, which supports the AGP 1X mode and a 200 MHz DAC. The PCI version is packaged in a 208-pin PQFP, which is also a pin-compatible performance upgrade for ATI's family of 264VT and 3D RAGE chips, offering a fast refresh strategy option for OEM systems. The PCI version incorporates the same performance enhancements and new features as the AGP 3D RAGE PRO version.[/b]
