Hi!

My main legacy gaming PC is setup as follows:

Abit KT7A, Athlon XP 2100+, 768MB RAM
Leadtek FX 5950 Ultra AGP
Voodoo 5500 PCI
Enermax 430W power supply

I've got the video cards running in different hardware profiles so that only one is active at any given time.

See this document for info on how I've got it set up:

I'm concerned that I may be pushing this sytem a bit too hard with the 430W PSU. If it were just the FX5950 or the Voodoo 5500 by themselves, I think it would be just fine. But I'm not sure that each card is truly disabled when the other is active and not drawing power. Can somebody more knowledgeable than me advise?

I know that the 5950 Ultra uses about 75W of power when it's at full burn, and the Voodoo 5500 uses about 30W at full burn. Using my configuration, am I killing my PSU?

Thanks in advance for your advice! 😀

Should be ok.

Even if the PSU can't survive in the long run, it's not like we're dealing with an AT PSU. ATX PSUs are cheap and as common as water. 😉
